Could Obama have waved a magic wand and saved Ambassador Stevens?
Could Obama have waved his magic wand and saved Ambassador Stevens?
Recent military successes have led people to believe we have elite strike forces stationed and ready to go in every corner of the world. Never mind that Seal Team 6 practiced for weeks at a mock up of Bin Laden's hide out. They forget the "Black Hawk Down" incident. We had an aircraft carrier thousands of troops and attack helicopters and didn't get everyone out alive. With all the arms left over from the revolution, could the bad guys have been waiting for our helicopters and strike force with the arms needed to take down helicopters? I wonder if we would be talking about 50 Americans dead if this was such a trap?

1. If only they'd sent out the BatSignal
|
Obama would have donned his cape, rolled out the Batmobile, warmed up the Batplane, and saved the day!

3. Sure he could have, if he'd had a magic wand!

But magic wands don't exist, so no.

4. Could the United States stay out of Lybia?
|
The focus seems to be on the events of the one day rather than an examination into what the CIA was doing in Lybia. What role did CIA activity play in the causation of an attack, if any?

5. I think it's useful to remember

that Obama liberated Libya from it's dictator without spilling a drop of American troops blood. The fact that we lost four people in the aftermath is of course very unfortunate but they knew the risks and they knew the level of security they had. They were there voluntarily serving their country. If Obama had liberated Libya the way bush and the repugnants would have, we would have lost, and would still be losing, thousands of young American troops.
