Petition to deport secessionists grows in popularity

http://www.wbtv.com/story/20112509/petition-to-deport-secessionists-gains-signature

While dozens of petitions requesting that states, including North and South Carolina, secede from the United States are making national headlines, a counter-petition is quickly growing in numbers.

The petition, which was created on Monday, calls to deport everyone that signed a petition to withdraw their state from the United States of America.

The petition is among the mix of dozens posted on the White House website.

As of Thursday evening, the petition is closing in on the 25,000 signatures needed to get an official response from the government.

there's a link to the petition in the article-I signed

1. Deport them to where?

I assume that most, maybe all, of them were born here.

11. There are any number of uninhabited islands with room for them.

Since being born here doesn't make one a citizen (by their own birther rules), we aren't going to quibble over a little matter like that.

I think maybe Somalia or Haiti might also suit them.

13. This is really a linguistic quibble

The petition should refer to banishing or exiling them, rather than deporting them.

2. What country would take them?

We could put them out to sea on ships. A true ship of fools.

10. Well, rebellion against the union IS a federal offense. Throw them out.

It's not like we'll miss them. Then they can learn first hand what it's like to be "illegal aliens" in some other country. Maybe we can dump them out of C-130's in cargo containers with parachutes. Given the obesity demographics, we might need some REALLY large parachutes.

19. So this guy I know might have signed a petition for Texas to secede, although he isn't a resident.

That wouldn't be held against me, er, him, would it?
