Big Business Message - We Can't Afford To Stay In Business If We Have To Pay Decent ----

wages and cover health insurance. Most of American business seems to embrace the Walmart pay model. Pay very little for the work done and claim poverty and insolvency when you have to pay a living wage or cover anything.

1. I guess they are not very good at their jobs

perhaps they should be fired and bring people in who can do the job

3. If they can't pay a worker enough to support himself

then the job just isn't worth doing.

The cheap bastards just don't want any of those dollars getting away from them, never realizing a well paid working force spends most of that money, increasing business and making the rich richer.

All they can see is "MY MUNNNEEEE!" going to people they look down on, the suckers who sweat their lives away doing the things the owners won't do.

This is why we need the minimum wage jacked up fast. Ever notice that business people screech when a rise is threatened but that none of them has ever advocated rolling it back?

They know damned full well they need to be forced to pay decent wages. They also know that when wages are raised across the board, their business increases. They just won't take the initiative to pay workers well by themselves.

5. Great!. Now there will room for your competition, who DO pay decent wages.

Level playing field now that the predators can no longer undercut good companies by cheating workers

yes please. Close up shop. The sooner the better.

6. So let them go out of business and make room for people who CAN profit

while paying good wages. Believe me, it is possible, and every Republican crank that goes out of business will leave a niche that will be filled by someone smarter than them.

7. Exactly. Tool pundits are always cherrily chirping about "creative destruction"

They chirp loudest when it's good jobs being lost. Let "creative destruction" apply to shitty jobs as well. I doubt the same tools will put the same spin on it though.

9. The odd thing is the requirement for big biz healthcare isn't effecive until 1 Jan 2014.

So when companies like Papa Johns announce they're cutting staff now and raising prices now, where do you think that extra money goes?

10. They have given us a great opportunity here

To educate the masses . Big business passes on the costs of healthcare onto consumers. Big business also passes the costs on to consumers to buy elections.

So if we had federally financed campaigns and elections The costs of big businesses products should decrease. Freeing up more than enough money for health care.
