Bilbray Concedes

Rep. Brian Bilbray (R-Carlsbad) has conceded the race for the newly drawn 52nd Congressional District to his Democratic challenger Scott Peters, a former San Diego City Council member.

Peters leads Bilbray by 50.72% to 49.28%. The county registrar of voters is still counting votes but both sides have concluded that the result is no longer in doubt.

In a statement released by his office Friday morning, Bilbray said that he "will continue fighting for the issues I believe in and that benefit San Diego."

He added, "I look forward to finally having the opportunity to spend time with my family and seven grandkids."

DCCC was never able to get in front of RCCC's relentless attacks against Hernandez, Obama's pick to run against McNerney.

And you actually called it about 6 months ago

I remember the UT running screaming front page headlines after he edged out Busby when the dukester got convicted. Then another screaming front pager the day after rubbing it in. And then one more after that for good measure.

I hate the UT...probably gonna bury this one on page six of the local news under a preperation h ad. I see you have to get your unpropogandized SD news from LA times as well.

But try the East County Magazine. We are nipping at the heels of the UT, and it's online. The price is free, but a donation would be nice.

Oh and let me push the #ViejasAlers, also over email for more than just traffic.
