2. Meanwhile, 18,500 workers pay the price for upper management/CEO union busting.

Where do they go?

5. The brand name has value.

Somebody will buy the assets, perhaps re-employ some of the strikers.

6. It will not increase anyone's health in any way. And 18,500 people are out of work

Sorry, but I think your op is fatuous and callous. Not exactly a winning combination.

9. It's not the union's fault, but this company has been circling the drain for years.

8. There are other companies that make similar products.

And the execs at the company bled it dry with their salaries and mismanagement. Then they blamed the workers. http://www.dailykos.com/story/2012/04/05/1081003/-Yikes-Twinkie-maker-execs-gave-themselves-huge-raises-then-went-bankrupt#

14. lets celebrate an idiotic union

even the teamsters asked them to hold a secret ballot to continue the strike.
now they are all out of a job. i wonder how many here will offer to send the now unemployed workers some money since now they are on unemployment

15. i have a question .

lets say 70% of the owners of a company said lets give all the employees a 10% raise and 30% said no. I guess you would be ok with the company saying no raises.

or if 70% of the country said leave SS alone but 30% said cut it you would be ok with cutting it.

here 70% of the workers agreed to the cut. 30% said no and beacue of that 100% are unemployed. 30% dictated the terms to the remainder

17. I call it Food-like Substance

I have a cupcake in a plexi box, intact & unchanging after 12 years. My own little experiment. Regular eaters of Twinkies & Hostess cupcakes won't need embalming.

I am sorry for the employees and I hope they can find work in a better food processing business where they get benefits and raises.

22. Yeah totaly.

Because people that eat snack cakes eat nothing but snack cakes, therefore killing themselves. Nobody enjoys them in moderation. No siree.

And they will not switch brands or anything. No siree. Off the Hostess, onto the salad.

You and that Republi-con Bloomy should get together and hash out some ideas for legislating gastronomic activity.

23. Great opportunity for Tastykake to expand - their products are a million times better

Many people have tastykakes mailed to them, after they move to states where they are not available.
