The Republican attempt to turn Benghazi into a political football is disgusting.

Four Americans in foreign service were killed, and it was a tragedy.

Why it is the subject of an investigation in the US Congress, when the US is about ready to default on social security, is beyond belief. Since that day, ten times as many Americans in foreign service have been killed in Afghanistan. Why no investigations or controversy? Because ambassadors are paid more? Because American soldiers in combat are "supposed" to die?

Of course not... It's an issue because it's an attempt by Republicans to wrangle a bargaining chip for their beloved tax cut.

You've heard of Ambassador Christopher Stevens, but you probably haven't heard of Walter Reid Barrie, Kenneth W. Bennett, James D. Nehl, Daniel L. Carlson, Brandon L. Buttry, Dain T. Venne, Ryan P. Jayne, Brett E. Gornewicz, Matthew G. Kantor, Alex F. Domion, Kashif M. Memon, Clinton K. Ruiz, Michael S. Duskin, Shane G. Wilson, Ryan J. Savard, Brittany B. Gordon, Robert J. Billings, Thomas R. Macpherson, Joel Del Mundo Tiu, Joseph L. Schiro, Justin C. Marquez, Milton W. Brown, Camella M. Steedley, Aaron A. Henderson, Donna R. Johnson, Thomas Jefferson Butler IV, Jeremy F. Hardison, Daniel T. Metcalfe, Riley G. Stephens, Jonathan A. Gollnitz, Orion N. Sparks, Rashun Roberts, Jason M. Swindle, Sapuro B. Nena, Joshua N. Nelson, Genaro Bedoy, Jon R. Townsend, Christopher K. Raible, Bradley W. Atwell, or Kyle B. Osborn.

4. The repukes are on step 2 of their attempt to impeach this President.

The first step was finding an ambiguous (molehill) event for which the details are murky and blowing it all out of proportion (mountain).

Laugh if you want, but the Clinton impeachment started out as an investigation into the Clinton's Whitewater investments.

5. It seems like a very steep hill to climb...

to prove someone is a liar - when you are a liar using only lies in your effort.

These so-called "public servants" not only denigrate the service of true heroes, but the very oaths of office they obviously forgot they took.

8. I want an investigation of what all those CIA folks were doing in Benghazi.

Re-evaluating security and the availability of emergency military teams to pull people out of bad situations doesn't sound bad to me either.

I don't see how the deaths of other diplomatic personnel previously negates the need to evaluate the situation now.

Personally, I don't feel the need to talk more about getting out of Afghanistan. We just need to do it.

The President and our dem team do seem to demonstrate the ability to talk and chew gum at the same time. Give them more credit.

9. Lindsey Graham and John McCain are attempting to elevate it to a national crisis, and it's not.

These situations are always investigated and re-evaluated. At least one rep on the House Foreign Affairs Committee has his head on straight:

"Gerald E. Connolly, a Virginia Democrat who visited Libya in May, said that the Foreign Service was inherently dangerous in certain places, but that American diplomats needed to keep doing their jobs.

Libya was a case in point, Mr. Connolly said.

'When I landed at Tripoli, there was a milita, not the government, guarding the airport," he said. "It's an inherently unstable situation after 40 years of autocratic rule by Qaddafi. Tragedies happen."

10. I want to vomit everytime they bring it up

Such crass opportunism and exaggeration. Such a lie. They do not care what happened--they just want to use it for their own ends. And avoid looking at their own part in reducing funds for security...

(Now why am I having 9-11 LIHOP flashbacks...)

13. The assholes are trying to impeach Obama and it's revolting.

Where were these dipshits when Bush fucked up Hurricane Katrina that cost thousands of lives, or when he lied his way into two illegal and immoral wars that we're still fighting today?
