Maine's GOP Chair Now Says He's Not Racist Because He Plays Basketball with a Black Guy

There’s nothing about me that would be discriminatory. I know black people. I play basketball every Sunday with a black guy. He’s a great friend of mine. Nobody would ever accuse me of suggesting anything .... What I do suggest is that same-day voter registration without voter ID is pretty hard to police, and it’s odd that hundreds of people in a small town would show up.

Of course he knows black people. That's because "they count their negroes." I imagine they take turns keeping an eye on them too. The Chair's days are on Tuesdays at 7:15 pm on the basketball court.

13. I used to play basketball with Charlie.

In the town rec league. He was always good for a punch to the kidneys when I went for a rebound, or a quick slap on my wrist while shooting. He would never call his own fouls, either (no refs). I hated seeing him walk onto the court - slow, short, and obnoxious - no game at all without cheating.
