So you remember Bob Murray...

Bob Murray was the loonie who threatened to fire miners if Obama won and carried out his threat in conjunction with a prayer meeting. He's also the guy who posed the unpaid miners behind Romney and was responsible for the Crandall Canyon mine disaster.

Today, my husband ran into some guys he knows who work for Murray Energy. Murray did far worse than just fire miners--the guys who are left have had their pay and their hours cut drastically. These are guys with families, some of whom have had their incomes halved while still being expected to accomplish the same work. They would have been much better off straight out fired, so they could at least collect unemployment and look for another job. The miners who posed behind Romney are scared, depressed, and very angry.

My husband also reported that this video has gone viral among the miners:

for Murray Energy. I live in his home town area. Union miners have hated him for decades. He had one union mine in the area a few months ago. He connected into the union mine with one of his non-union mines and then laid off the union workers and is operating it now as non-union.

His employees are forced to donate to his candidates and attend fundraising dinners where he pretends to be a big shot political power player. No one should have that much economic power over other people.

Shale oil, fracking etc is flooding market with natural gas at prices lower than coal. Coal will lose jobs because competition is doing its job. And fracking was developed because of federal govt research. Fed research gave us the internet and it gave us fracking, two massive job creators in the future. Along with a million other economically useful things.

against Mr. Murray. A few hundred angry people at his home with pitchforks and torches might make him change his tone.
