Gramps McCain loses it when asked why he missed classified briefing on Benghazi

CNN caught up with McGrumpy in the halls of the Senate and asked him why he did not attend the top level, classified briefing on the Benghazi incident today. McCain refused to answer and when pressed he damn near spit out his dentures ranting about being "badgered" by the reporter asking the question.

What a colossal douchebag!

Asked why he wouldn't comment, McCain grew agitated: "Because I have the right as a senator to have no comment and who the hell are you to tell me I can or not?”

When CNN noted that McCain had missed a key meeting on a subject the senator has been intensely upset about, McCain said, "I'm upset that you keep badgering me."

While McCain refused to shed light on why he didn't show, his spokesman Brian Rogers emailed CNN a short time later with an explanation. He blamed it on a "scheduling error" but wouldn't provide any more detail.

According to a Democratic aide on the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, only three of the eight GOP members of the committee attended the two hour briefing that ran from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. ET. By contrast, seven of the nine Democratic members were there. McCain's press conference took place at noon.

attend the briefings are so upset about what happened? After all they were not interested enough to be there and find out what happened now were they??? Republi-CONS, they disgust me. Never doing what they were sent there to do, but griping the entire time about what is going on.....to busy with their afternoon naps I guess

57. saw him this morning on NBC Today show

He kept saying "4 Americans died, we need answers. . ." about bengazi. I wished Matt Lauer would say "why werent you this indignant after 9/11?".

Next they moved to Rice's confirmation hearings where Pappa McMurf said "She lied to America" and Lauer asked back "What about Condelezza Rice saying Iraq would have a mushroom cloud if we dont do something based on wrong information" and McCain said that its okay that Condie Lied because everyone in the world was spouting the same lies.

Next he went into the lie that Obama never called bengazi a terrorist attack. Like the semantics make any difference. He forgot to add that Obama said it would be investigated and the people perputrating the event would be taken care of. That whole "obama is softe cause he used the wrong words" is a ridiculous spin.

Whether the attack was spontaneous or planned, it is being investigated and it ALREADY happened. Focusing on WHY it happend doesn't change that it happened and it wont change the future cause now we are wasting money on these crazed hearings instead of budgeting more money for security at the embassies...its frutstrating.

Barbour: GOP needs a 'proctology exam'

CNN's Ashley Killough

(CNN) – While Republicans continue to soul search after their party's loss in the presidential election, former Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour injected a new term Wednesday to describe the GOP's introspection.

"The ground game is really important, and we have to be, I mean we've got to give our political organizational activity a very serious..." he said, taking a pause and looking for the right word. "Proctology exam. We need to look everywhere."

You do have the right to have no comment and not speak to your schedule; but you CANNOT do both, while pressing the issue that you demand more information when the very briefing you missed was on that very subject.

It's like calling a press conference decrying your unpreparedness for a test ... during the announced professor guided study session.

Oh, how you embarass me as one who lives in your district. Here's a suggestion: "Shhhhh!"

20. This disinterest in the classified briefing on Benghazi is all the proof I need

McCain is an old fool, dishonorable and dishonest. He and the other 4 GOP committee members who absented themselves from the meeting made a very loud statement to the effect that they don't give a damn about the facts of the case, they just want to attack the President. McCain got angry because the obvious dishonesty of his attacks on Obama was being exposed.

(I might have voted for McCain in 2000, back when he still had a semblance of honor and dignity. But he pretty much traded his principles and kissed Bush's butt -- even after the lie about him fathering a black child was concocted and spread by Bush's campaign -- for a chance to be Bush's successor.)

27. Republicans have made it perfectly clear that are trying to get a special prosecutor appointed

McCain (or Graham) don't care one bit about getting more information or he would of made it to today's two hour classified meeting & hearings. - He knew what time it started.

McCain has already made up his mind without any of the facts....He & Graham just want a "witch-hunt" they will try anything, anything to try to get a special prosecutor to harass & weaken the Obama administration for the next four years (ala Ken Starr).

McCain & Graham certainly don't care about the facts or finding the truth - They've already made up their mind that they are going to speak the same untruths over & over again to try and make it fact.

McCain & Graham believe they have finally found their vehicle for the republicans to harass & dictate policy moves on this administration via their completely bogus accusations, which don't hold any water what so ever. - There is zero none, nil, zilch no substance to what McCain & Graham are saying - and the thing is....And is why they are screaming so loudly - because they know it too.....

Republicans have made it perfectly clear that are trying to get a special prosecutor appointed on the flimsiest of evidence & untruths so they can dig into anything & everything in this administration for the next four years .

They aren't going to get away with it this time as they did with the bogus “Whitewater” scam they made up.

but more interesting are the comments, which I typically avoid because they are always insane teabug rants, but look at all the sanity--

This is a great example of what is happening to our country. Idiots demanding answers while missing the facts right before their eyes.

I believe there is something seriously wrong with him. Dementia?? Or has he just devolved into a mean old man. Whatever it is, he is certainly no longer the nice guy he used to be (or pretend to be).

When Condi Rice was being subjected to questioning over whether she lied about WMD, "Mr. Lingering Bitterness" said she was merely misled about the intelligence and lamented politicization of the issue: “I can only conclude we're doing this for no other reason than because of lingering bitterness at the outcome of the elections,”

110. If a Senator misses a classified briefing, do innocent Americans die?

I know my reply title is a little bit "out there" but I think there may be some truth to my statement. If our elected representatives can't be bothered to show up to crucial meetings, how are they supposed to give the supposed oversight that we're entrusting them with? If a pair of eyes misses a crucial detail and innocent people (not just Americans) die as a result... isn't that pair of eyes to have some blame placed upon them too? Even if the eyes are attached to Senator McCain?

McCain disingenuously belittles the woman. He doesn't want any of the details of HIS time as a POW to come to light...
