More republican whining: "It's mind boggling how Asians and Jews are a voting bloc for the Dems."

It's mind boggling how Asians and Jews are a voting bloc for the Dems.

Obama is obviously antagonistic towards Israel yet he gets 70% of the Jewish vote. Why? The Jewish population of America is probably the most prosperous demographic within any country anywhere on Earth. Obama is shitty to Israel, Jews have no interest in entitlements and Obama's policies towards business are antagonistic to Jewish business owners.

Yet, they voted for him at a 70% clip.

It's insane.

Same for Asians. 73% for Obama.

Asians and Jews don't need Obama for shite and because they are both magnificently prosperous demographics, voting for him actually works against them.

So WTF?

My favorite response:

It's pretty much every group except white men that vote for the Dems. There's nothing specific to these groups. Heck the "Other" category on race voted for the Dems at about a 75% clip.

Nearly every group votes Democratic except white men. The party targeting one specific racial group is the GOP, which is why they have such a demographic problem. White men are increasingly a smaller portion of the electorate (and really, they win old white men).

Romney even lost the "Other" vote!

I guess I just don't trust a party that seems to believe in excluding any group that doesn't look sound and worship like they do. If we Jews feel part of American society it's no thanks to the GOP.

Regarding Israel I don't believe giving the most hawkish members of the government equates to "support" especially when there are plenty of Israelis who want a more peaceful approach.

Finally there is a religiously based commitment to social justice that the current GOP just doesn't understand.

6. What a racist. As if automatically being a Jew meant you were wealthy.

Seriously, though, it seems to me that both Jews and many Asian cultures put a very high value on education. Republicans are no friend of education. Hardly surprising to me that demographics that value learning, science and technology would run away from a group that wants to teach creationism as science.

Republicans in my family didn't realize they were making fun of them, and still treat my husband and I like meathead.

The Problem I have with the Republican Party in Bullet Points:

● Inability to process facts due to narrow-mindedness
● Inability to look at a situation with nuance, they get stuck with a mantra and stick with it, which goes back to bullet point 1.
● Inability to process view points that do not conform with their pre-existing ideas. Again, stuck with the narrow-mindedness.
● Inability to compromise, circa 2001. I blame Bush a great deal for this one.
● Inability to deal with Science in a meaningful manner. Science is a process, not a belief system.
● Inability to look beyond themselves and their brethren. Due to such a thing, they blew through the idea of enlightened self-interest.

● Dismissiveness in regards to those perceived lesser than themselves.
● Dismissiveness in regards to those who are different from themselves.
● Dismissiveness in regards to those with a different view point, and unwilling to look at the other point of view.

Issues I have a hard time with:
● Taxes - One must always be able to look at every single option and not dismiss it out of hand.
● Legislating Morality - There is a reason separation of church and state is imperative. America was the land of Religious Freedoms, not just Christianity. Issues regarding abortion, gay marriage, contraceptives and so forth should not be used as wedge issues to put a stopper on meaningful and needed legislation. I consider those issues as a way to stop something from passing.
● Safety Nets - There is a reason you need safety nets. It is so that people have the chance to become contributing members of society. Republicans seem to lose their humanity in regards to this, when they are dealing with someone who is not like them.

Basically, the Republican party has painted itself in to a corner, where they showcase ignorance, greed and stubbornness going beyond stupidity.

Until they come back from the cliff they full heartedly jumped over, this Independent can't look at them seriously.
