Top Georgia GOP Lawmakers Host Briefing on Secret Obama Mind-Control Plot

President Obama is using a Cold War-era mind-control technique known as "Delphi" to coerce Americans into accepting his plan for a United Nations-run communist dictatorship in which suburbanites will be forcibly relocated to cities. That's according to a four-hour briefing delivered to Republican state senators at the Georgia state Capitol last month.

On October 11th at a closed-door meeting of the Republican caucus convened by the body's majority leader, Chip Rogers, a tea party activist told Republican lawmakers that Obama was mounting this most diabolical conspiracy. The event—captured on tape by a member of the Athens-based watchdog Better Georgia (who was removed from the room after 52 minutes)—had been billed as an information session on Agenda 21, a non-binding UN agreement that commits member nations to promote sustainable development. In the eyes of conservative activists, Agenda 21 is a nefarious plot that includes forcibly relocating non-urban dwellers and prescribing mandatory contraception as a means of curbing population growth. The invitation to the Georgia state Senate event noted the presentation would explain: "How pleasant sounding names are fostering a Socialist plan to change the way we live, eat, learn, and communicate to 'save the earth.'"
About 23 minutes into the briefing, Searcy explained how President Obama, aided by liberal organizations like the Center for American Progress and business groups like local chambers of commerce, are secretly using mind-control techniques to push their plan for forcible relocation on the gullible public:

They do that by a process known as the Delphi technique. The Delphi technique was developed by the Rand Corporation during the Cold War as a mind-control technique. It's also known as "consensive process." But basically the goal of the Delphi technique is to lead a targeted group of people to a pre-determined outcome while keeping the illusion of being open to public input.

The GOP have gone completely insane.

7. The reason that kind of crap works for republicans is that they can't imagine minds more complicated

than their own, so "mind control" is a likely possibility to them, easy to believe that others' minds are being controlled, because they have no idea of what they're talking about when it comes to the word "mind". They don't know that they don't know and they can't even imagine that they don't know what they don't know, so they underestimate others frequently and by a great deal.

I cannot imagine how else they were even able to secure the majority in the state legislature. They didn't get that from the Dems for a good 15 years after the Reagan Democrats phenomenon, right?

I can't tell you how GLAD I am that I gravitated to California - even more so now that the Dems RULE the state legislatures! WOOHOO! And the people even voted for a tax hike on themselves! Outstanding!

Now if we could just oust this GOP rubber stamper we have in DC. Devin Nunes is as useless (save for his love of his high-dollar constituents) to the average Joe in his district as a snow blower would be. (hint: we've seen snow here - once - in about 40 years) I can't fathom a whole legislature full of dolts like Nunes.

34. I've actually run Delphi groups - seriously

You sit down with top experts in a particular field (in my case, it was health care) and get them to talk about the future of their field, and see which areas they agree on.

I think the first Delphis were done about the future of energy (oil and gas, etc)

This is really a thing, but it's not for controlling people, it's for trying to figure out what the future is likely to look like so that companies can do planning.

It's certainly possible that someone conducted Delphi groups about the future of energy, and one of the conclusions was that people won't want to live in outer-ring suburbs when gas is >$6/gallon or more, and maybe even that families might be having fewer kids because of the costs of college. These fools probably heard about these predictions and got it in their head that this was some sort of "population control"

Delphi groups are an extremely important Organization Development tool, that structures groups of experts to clearly identify problems, and then project the best possible solutions for the future. This is also done in large corporations...and is part of sophisticated, highly efficient strategic planning.

As usual, listen to what they are accusing Democrats of doing - it reveals what the Republicans are actually doing. They've been using psychological techniques since the 1980s to build a false "moral majority" in the U.S. that will reliably vote Republican against their own interests.

http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2012/11/15/georgia-lawmakers-meet-over-obamas-mind-control-un-dictatorship-plot/

The main focus of the event was something called Agenda 21, which conservatives warn is move towards dictatorship by “expanding public transportation routes and preserving open space as part of a United Nations-led conspiracy to deny property rights and herd citizens toward cities.” Former Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich even “explicitly repudiate what Obama has done on Agenda 21″ during a primary debate last year.

59. Idiots. Delphi is not a "mind control technique".

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delphi_method
The Delphi method is a structured communication technique, originally developed as a systematic, interactive forecasting method which relies on a panel of experts.
...
Delphi is based on the principle that forecasts (or decisions) from a structured group of individuals are more accurate than those from unstructured groups. This has been indicated with the term "collective intelligence". The technique can also be adapted for use in face-to-face meetings, and is then called mini-Delphi or Estimate-Talk-Estimate (ETE). Delphi has been widely used for business forecasting and has certain advantages over another structured forecasting approach, prediction markets.

From the OP's article:
It was emceed by Field Searcy, a local conservative activist who was forced out of the Georgia Tea Party in April due to his endorsement of conspiracy theories about the president's birth certificate and the collapse of World Trade Center Tower 7.

62. "Both sides are the same". How much of this RW nuttery do we have to witness for this meme to die?

There may have been some nutty conspiracy theories about Bush, but how many of them were pushed by the leaders and the mainstream of the party? That's the difference. The nuttery on the right is the MAINSTREAM of their party.

64. Oh hell, Chip Rogers is the representative of my district,

and is the only Republican I ever voted for. He was a big advocate against animal cruelty. That's the only reason I voted for him. He campaigned a fight against dog fighting in Georgia.

65. Eventually the GOP will alienate more and more people

And they will become a fringe party like the Greens and the Libertarians, with only a core group of true believers.

Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated.

72. You might be able to avert the plot by wearing tin-foil hats every time you appear in public.

And I mean 24/7. Get busy folding.

and this hit the news. I rolled my eyes, and so did most of the other out-of-town bus riders.

It's also known as "consensive process." But basically the goal of the Delphi technique is to lead a targeted group of people to a pre-determined outcome while keeping the illusion of being open to public input.

Or in other words a typical sales technique. Sheesh.

80. Ironically, in _Manufacturing Consent_, Noam Chomsky

explains how the government manipulates the media to do something very much like that--but the manipulation is from the right, not from the left. We see that process in action on FOX News, where propaganda is 24/7. FOX and the cooperative MSM have played along with the most rightwing people in the government (and with the administration when it was a rightwing administration) to manipulate public opinion in order to drag us into illegal wars, like Iraq, and to drum up anticommunist hysteria.

This briefing is itself a symptom of the sort of nutty beliefs people can be made to espouse as a result of being constantly subjected to extreme propaganda of the Beck/Hannity/Rush variety.

But governments don't usually mobilize their people to save the planet or to help the poor and lead more sustainable lives. Governments are almost always more concerned with manipulating people to believe in such things as fighting wars that will feed the military-industrial complex or supporting various other methods to redistribute wealth upward toward those in poower.
