LOL! Freeper suggestions to replace Boehner as Speaker: Palin and Scott Walker.
Never mind that neither is in the House.

Last edited Wed Nov 14, 2012, 02:01 PM USA/ET - Edit history (3) First get Borhner to resign from Congress. Then get Walker to resign as governor of Wisconsin and move to Ohio. Then get Mama Grizzly to pull up stakes in Wasilla and move there as well. Make sure they both meet full residency requirements. Then months or years later once everything's legal hold a special primary election to see which one gets the nomination. Primary debates, campaigns, etc. Then on to the special election (what year is it?). And anyway, the winner of that race can run for House Speaker against any other GOP Congressmen that might want the job which is probabaly filled anyway by now. And...WFT!!! A Democrat wins the special election??? Was this really worth the effort? Ah, Just forget the whole #!@!$#%@!! thing!

I'm tempted to blame our education system that children aren't being taught enough civics and government in school all the way through two years of college. No, I'm not blaming the teachers, but generations of Sec. of Ed in both federal and state governments for not addressing this issue and doing something about it.
If I hadn't been forced to read a newspaper everyday in high school school and Time Magazine every week, which we spent some time in history class during the week, doing reports and discussing, I doubt if I would have much of a clue as to how our government works. But, I was taught about it and this was in the 1950's. Even in art class, we spent some time painting pictures of the Presidential conventions and other election events that were going on using Life magazine photos as our models. |

truth out by pointing out the absurdities of what's going on. I love Stephanie Miller because she zeroes right in on what is laughable and absurd and makes fun of it. Of course Stewart, Colbert and Maher do their utmost to make fun of what needs to be made fun of and while you are laughing, they make you think.
One of my low information neighbors gets all his news from these guys, because even he's smart enough to realize the news media are full of bull shit. However, when he tunes into them, they set him to thinking and he comes over and asks me details about what's going on. I appreciate these comics to no end for the service they are performing even if it's unintentional. They probably had a lot to do with getting this election to turn in favor of the left. |

15. I've been arguing this kind of crap with (R) friends and family for months:
|
They have no concept of how government works.
Given that they blame (while we too often credit) President Obama for everything that's happened over the past three years and ten + months, why would they want to replace the orange boner? Obama is obviously Superman, and there's nothing any speaker of the House could have done to oppose him. According to them (even many of those who ran for pResident), Congress has become irrelevant. President Obama is the first and last word on everything. |

i.e., with the Republican House members? Maybe if either one of them were considered towering paragons respected by all (and able to call in or bestow many favors), but that's not exactly their situation, is it?

28. And for Palin to get INTO the House, she'd have to get Don Young, AK's only congresscritter,
|
to stand down and create a special election...which will happen on a cold day in Hell, because in 2008, Palin endorsed and did tv ad appearances for Sean Parnell(now our governor, God help us)in a primary challenge to Young-a challenge Young just barely survived.
At this point, Don would rather put his hand in ANOTHER leg-hold trap(he actually did that in a Congressional hearing in the late Seventies or early Eighties, IIRC, to show that the traps weren't inhumane)than get out of the way to let Caribou Barbie have a comeback. |
