If you missed it, or just want to relive the memory, here's what election night looked like on DU

On election night I spent some time capturing DU's Latest page for posterity. I've collected the results (which span the time period from 8:30 PM ET to 11:40 PM ET) into one giant page so you can relive election night as it happened on DU.

A couple of things to note: first, a dial-up warning. The page is about 1MB in size.

Second, the page is displayed in the same order that the Latest page is displayed. That means that the newest threads are at the top, and the oldest threads are at the bottom. When you first open the page you'll be sent to the bottom automatically -- you can then scroll up to see the threads appearing in the order that they appeared on election night.

So without further ado, here it is. Enjoy!

4. In some ways, it was a more fullfilling night than in 2008...it solidified everything good.

and I had limited access due to Hurricane Sandy and was greatful for every single moment I was able to be here

and thank Skinner and the staff for keeping it going with the heavy usage.

5. No, for many it was LESS fullfilling

Not about Obama winning, that was great, I'm talking about locking out regular posters who dont have stars from joining in the celebration on DU.

At least we could join in the celebrations back in 2008.

DU may very well have had higher traffic this year than in 2008 on election night. In 2008 I think we only went to Level 4.

My first vote was for Bill Clinton in 1996. That was a good year. Then it was straight losses and heartbreaking thefts for more than a decade after that. May your daughter have better luck. But I think she will, given the changing demographics of our country.

NY was going blue either way.

But, her vote helped NY18 take blue back (go Sean Maloney!)...AND the 40th Senate District is still being counted. It will be decided by (her, and her friends' from the area) absentees! And then we will be rid of that ass pimple Greg Ball.

As they further and further constricted activity/participation on DU, I was curious just how busy it was/got. Are we talking 100%, 1000%? Where there moments where it was in real danger of just flat out crashing? How did they measure/see/sense this? Was it the frequency of post? The size? Uploads, downloads? Videos, graphics? text?

Inquiring minds want to know!

71. I was here...and I didn't see half of these posts!

Thank you, Earl G, for bringing the timeline to light.

Of course, I did see the other half and celebrated with like-minded folks WAY into the night. Still happy!

76. Good one. I've recorded election day and night on MSNBC. It's 12 hours long. From 6:00pm Eastern

to 6:00am Eastern.

It's on 3 DVD discs.

Along with all off Obama's and the DNC's other great moments.

This will go down in history along with 2008.

I couldn't get on it was limited to star holders, so I went to Free Republic to see what the dark side had to say and their gloom was palpable. Just sorry there was too much traffic here.
