1. I have to wonder why someone heading the CIA can show such poor judge of character

The affair with Broadwell I can almost understand, but the association with this nut and her sister in FL and the extent that they have been given access to the lives of high powered officials makes me seriously question his judgement.

I don't care who appointed him.

5. That lady seems like a big party player

We probably won't find out but maybe they are swingers...I don't get it but here some are into that.

I think petraeus showed bad judgement by who he chose as his friends. You can always tell about a person by who they hang with.

2. Not.

He stepped down because he knew no one should trust him again. He lied to himself, his wife, his duty.

9. ^== This.

He knew he should have been out when he started becoming blackmailable. If Obama hadn't been re-elected, he thought he could get away with it. He is only upset because he's been caught.

Off with his head - if an underling can't do it, neither can the boss.

4. Only in the sense that Republicans are looking to damage Obama

from any direction, they'll use Petraeus for that if necessary since he was an Obama apointee.

12. That's What I Was Looking For

They are trying to use Petraeus to dirty up Obama over Benghazi.

6. Petraeus was one of O's big missses --

Leftover Bushie neocon crap, in my book. Has been responsible for the militarization of the CIA. MoveOn got it right on this bastard.

7. I suspect there's no right way to answer that

And I'm sure not going to go around blaming the president because one of his few Republican appointess acted like a lecherous twenty-something.

8. You can't give someone a pass just for the sake of politics.

That is what the other side does, not ours.

Situational ethics are unethical.

11. Defend him? Sorry, fuck-ups are on their own.

At least the Petraeus for Pres movement will be stopped in its infancy.

13. The general did not intend to step down.

I don't believe he would have resigned had Romney won. Just my opinion.
