Newsflash: Married men have sex with women they aren't married to.

And in even more shocking news, powerful, wealthy, famous men have even more sex with women they aren't married to.

The most consistent data on infidelity come from the General Social Survey, sponsored by the National Science Foundation and based at the University of Chicago, which has used a national representative sample to track the opinions and social behaviors of Americans since 1972. The survey data show that in any given year, about 10 percent of married people — 12 percent of men and 7 percent of women — say they have had sex outside their marriage.

I thought we learned it all from Tiger Woods?

Let me know when car windows are demolished with 9 irons. I don't believe there's the slightest thing political here, except that the power corrupts people. People in both parties.

because it would be impossible for more men to be screwing around with fewer women than women screwing around with men.

And I refuse to believe that Brits are having more sex with more people than Americans. I've had sex with a Brit guy. If it hadn't been for the marmite I'd never have remembered it.

One survey, recently reported by the federal government, concluded that men had a median of seven female sex partners. Women had a median of four male sex partners. Another study, by British researchers, stated that men had 12.7 heterosexual partners in their lifetimes and women had 6.5.

But there is just one problem, mathematicians say. It is logically impossible for heterosexual men to have more partners on average than heterosexual women. Those survey results cannot be correct.

It is about time for mathematicians to set the record straight, said David Gale, an emeritus professor of mathematics at the University of California, Berkeley.

“Surveys and studies to the contrary notwithstanding, the conclusion that men have substantially more sex partners than women is not and cannot be true for purely logical reasons,” Dr. Gale said.

But it would mean that fewer women are fooling around with more men, which would essentially mean that women are more promiscuous than men.

go home and deal with your wife/husband/family/relationships...will be the day that we begin to evolve as a species. Perhaps we're evolving from the Victorian days of justifiable homicide (physical or political) of adulterer and canoodler and perhaps a divorce is more humane.

Ordinary people only stand to lose their spouses and families (which may be worth it)... but I guess that's part of the thrill of high stakes gambling.

Long as it's kept secret, it seems to work out for the unfaithful--but if the shit hits the fan, most seem to regret it.

Some people like drama and complications in their lives makes em feel like they're really living...

Some people don't feel right messing with someone else's spouse and they wouldn't like it done to them.

Diffrent strokes....

Married men had a wife and family, who they stayed married to until death do they part, because there was no divorce. They also had a mistress and if they were rich maybe more than one mistress. The wife looked the other way even though she might know of the existence of the other woman. She was expected to tolerate it. The mistresses often had children with those men too. Evan Peron was the illegitimate daughter of her father's mistress. It made for some strange family entanglements as there are those half-siblings out there of the legitimate children.

Isabella Allende writes about these family entanglements in her novel, "House of Spirits". But this is what happens in a very patriarchal society with an authoritarian religion ruling people's lives particularly that of the women. Since I was an American because of my American father, I chose to live here because even in the fifties American women were so much freer and more elevated in status than South American women. So I find these affairs particularly distasteful and sleazy.

Men do not have an entitlement to bed as many women as they want to. I once had a married Romeo whom I confronted on his married status tell me, "She's married. I'm not."

No one cares in Europe, it's certainly no reason to demand resignations or start impeachments. Of course they aren't psycho religious prudes either.

However, men don't have a special privilege to sleep with any woman around after they have committed to being in a traditional marriage with one woman. They seem to think they do.
