Kelley called 911 to demand diplomatic protection; Petraeus travelled with 28-cop motorcycle escort

http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2012/11/13/petraeus-jill-kelley-broadwell-allen/1703097/

...How did the 37-year-old Kelley, born to a prominent Lebanese-American family in Philadelphia, land in the international spotlight?

She positioned herself at the center of the military social scene, acting as a kind of party ambassador for U.S. Central Command and Special Operations Command at MacDill Air Force Base, near the two-story brick mansion where she lives with her surgeon husband, Scott Kelley, and their three children...

Two years ago, at a soiree for Tampa's Gasparilla Pirate Festival, Petraeus arrived with a 28-cop motorcycle escort, the Tampa Bay Times reported. A photo shows Petraeus and his wife, Holly, with the Kelleys and Jill's identical twin sister, Natalie Khawam, wearing party beads, with a pirate flag in the background....

In the past few days, Kelly has called 911 several times, asking for police to come to her home. At least once she tried to invoke "diplomatic protection."

4. The Daily Mail has the actual calls. She describes herself

as a honorary consul general as well as asking for diplomatic protection. One call was about a man in a shirt and tie knocking on her door.

11. If she's Lebanese, this is actually VERY COMMON with them.

They use wealthy Lebanese citizens in USA and other nations to extend their reach, and many of them do call themselves consuls. Examples:

I don't think they're entitled to diplomatic protection--they might get an invite to the Embassy Christmas Party, though...

22. She actually has been appointed an "honorary diplomatic consul" for South Korea

I have no idea what that means. Here's a photo of her car license plate.

23. Yes--the reporting on that was very unclear at the outset. That said, this explains the

whole "State Department" connection that was shopped at the beginning hours of this drama.

14. The article mentions a $1.3M "mansion" in Tampa Bay.

Damn I live in a 3br, 2ba, small kitchen "mansion". All 1,800 square feet of it.

My house must be a "mansion" because it is on the tax rolls for appreciably more than $1.3.

Maybe it's the pool and the leaky roof and wood floors, all of which desperately need some help.

16. $1.3 seems low to me also.

Its 5000 sq ft, in the toniest area of town. Perhaps thats the value after the RE market crashed?

18. They owe their bank more than $2 million

and have defaulted on their loan. Isn't it true that the true value of property is much higher than the listed value on the tax rolls? It's ocean front property and you get to have a brief glimpse of it in this clip.

24. You must live in Cally-For-Nigh-Yay or one of those high priced areas!

I think a million plus goes a bit further in Tampa...!

If you go to the video at this link you can see views of her mansion--it looks pretty manse-y to me!

"...Kelley's twin is a Tampa lawyer who works on health care fraud and whistleblowers cases, according to her Linkedin profile, which was deleted Monday.

In 2003, the sisters competed in Food Network cook-off for the show Food Fight. ..."

7. Sounds to me like that base could use a paid protocol officer--not a "volunteer" who tries to

ingratiate herself with the big wigs. That kind of shit is an invitation to disaster, anyway.

What's up with these flag/general officers, nowadays? Don't they stay awake during the lectures on associations and integrity?

A 28 cop motorcycle escort is OBSCENE by any standard. Sometimes, the best security is QUIET.

think they deserve everything. Back in the old days she would have been considered a home wrecker or worse a high class call girl.

12. I don't know if she's done anything wrong

at this point. (I've seen some allegations but nothing absolute).

So going on that all she's done so far that I'm aware of is report threatening emails sent to her to the FBI, I kind of feel sorry for the media siege she is experiencing.
