McCaskilling the GOP in 2014

This year Claire McCaskill helped get Todd Akin chosen as her opponent and she crushed the teabagger.

Since the tea party controls the GOP primary process, pro-Democratic Super Pacs should help more of these bat-shit crazy teabaggers win their primaries in the future.

1. Agreed

Claire appears to be rather shrewd and there are lessons to be learned from her campaign.

3. McCaskilling ... a new verb... go find the dumbest of the TP and stroke their egos...maybe some cash

empower them to say stupid things. Perhaps an addition to the political lexicon.

5. While this has possibilities,

please remember that until Akin was dumb enough to makes his rape comments, he looked like a sure thing to beat McCaskill. This is a technique that could backfire.

6. Even if it backfired and the looney toon won,

he/she would be a pain in the ass to Boner and they'd get wiped out in 2016 like Allen West et. al.

7. Self-immolation has its attraction, but I'm partial to "giving 'em hell" and rejoicing.

8. Meanwhile, the looney toon would be in office.

They can do a lot of damage in two or four years.

I'd say, keep a close eye on Kansas. They have a right-wing Governor, Sam Brownback, and essentially a right-wing state house and senate at this point.

For many years companies were happy to locate to Kansas because the education system there was strong, and they knew they could get good, educated workers.

That will probably change. The people now in control of that state don't give a flying fuck about things like good education, and just watch that state sky-dive to the bottom of the barrel.

I lived in Kansas from 1990 to 2008.

9. Not in 2014

There's a Democrat in the White House and turn out is traditionally bad for the left in midterm elections. It could too easily backfire. 2016 all the way.

10. If we keep the great GOP voter suppression of 2012 in the limelight, we may

be able to do better in 2014
