1. Look at it this way, though.

Most of that money ends up filtering into the economy, and despite that, the asshole lost the election. There's some satisfaction there, don't you think?

10. Not much use shipping campaign funds to the Caymans.

We might have got eyeburn and earstrain, but the results still finance reruns of "I Love Lucy."

As long as the money stays here it's all good.

2. Priceless.

For everything else, there's Mastercard (unless you work for The Grand Willard of the GOP).

3. Link?

I heard the 2012 elections cost upwards of $6B, but cannot find the detail for such claims. What is the basis for this one?

4. Do you have a source for this?

I don't disbelieve it but if I forward it I know I'll be questioned about a source.

15. Ah, don't feel bad.

He didn't have to spend so much because smart people already knew who was the best!
Romney had to spend money to lie, big time. And flip-flop, then try to tell people he didn't. Then flip again.

18. ProPublica is the source (link)

http://projects.propublica.org/pactrack/candidates/votes

ProPublica is an independent, non-profit newsroom that produces investigative journalism in the public interest. Our work focuses exclusively on truly important stories, stories with “moral force.” We do this by producing journalism that shines a light on exploitation of the weak by the strong and on the failures of those with power to vindicate the trust placed in them.
