The lunacy over the restaurants cutting back is growing on Facebook.

Here is an example:

Yep, tax the rich even more, make them pay for you to have health care and what are they going to do... close the doors, cut back hours or have layoffs! They didn't get wealthy by sitting on their behinds and making bad business decisions and they are not going to lose money just so people can have health insurance. Yes, it would be great if rich people would just give all their money away and pay you more than you deserve and give you lots of benefits...but wait, if they did that then they wouldn't be rich and they wouldn't employ people!!!

Comment below this post: And how did people not see this coming???? Oh yeah, they were blinded by all the free stuff they were getting

Sheesh!!!! Give me the strength to hold my tongue and not respond! It would do absolutely no good.

1. There has been no tax increase

So why lay people off now?

2. To try to blame the President

They are sore losers. In the end, this will pass and if these nuts want to continue to grow their businesses they will do what they need to do.

It shows what assholes the rich are.

4. I think she is referring to what has been proposed with taxes.

I guess she thinks employers having to pay a little for heath care for employees is going to break them. Never mind the increasing wealth gap or wage inequality!

5. It's a new agitation tactic IMO to make people think the R's will give them jobs. R's are

just a pack of scuzzy liars.

9. Are you worried that we'll have not one restaurant, cook, server or dishwasher after this election?

I'm worried they'll all go the way of the dinosaur. It keeps me awake nights.

not.

11. Who is going to do the work of the people they lay off?

If they have to lay people off because their business is getting less business, that is one thing. A server can only wait on so many tables at a time, a cook can only cook so much at a time, a welder can only weld so much at a time etc etc etc.

Businesses aren't in the habit of using more labor hours than necessary to meet their demands. If they cut hours they need, there's a negative effect on quality, production time, customer service, sanitation. That results in a loss of of business and profit for them. If they really are so stubborn that they want to hurt their own business because they don't like the President, then another company will be happy to have their customers and I wish the best of luck to the laid off workers. Hopefully their next boss will be a liberal.

12. If these fuckers had provided benefits all along, they wouldn't have this prpblem

Instead, they've been screwing their employees for decades while pocketing millions.

Fuck 'em. If they can't absorb an extra 14 per pizza, then they have a shitty business model and deserve to lose customers. Go elsewhere for your bland, sodium-rich food.

Fuck 'em!

16. Or just add the 14 cents to the price of the pizza

It's a cost of doing business, so include in the price of the product. That's what every other company does that provides healthcare.

14. Talk to one of these people and you'll find they define "rich" as

someone who earns $100k/year, or has some sort of managerial job, etc. A great many of them are morons who very mistakenly think that they themselves are rich.

20. Having worked for a mega international corporation

with 4 different subsidiaries, and was over a 100 years old (chump change Papa John's). I can tell from doing corporate budgets, that COMPENSATION and BENEFITS is the largest operating cost line item. Anyone who tells you it is taxes, is either totally ignorant, or an outright liar.

Papa John's and Applebee's aren't exactly haute cuisine. Aren't there some other shitty restaurants that don't mind being boycotted out of existence? IHOP maybe? Denny's? Let's clean up the foodscape!

23. If Romney won

Would they be giving their employees more with the big tax cuts they would be getting? Greed is going to destroy these people. The average American is tired of it, and he just put himself in the spotlight. Stupid and greedy.
