Otherwise the Republic's would be saying that the Democratic Party didn't have a right to a Senate majority or the Presidency or those House seats we picked up.

7. Our economy is doing fine...

I love living here. It's like living in a big city without all the snarling of traffic and over congestion.

Things are close, great museums, award winning theater district and a world class Orchestra not to mention ten colleges in the area and one of the best hospitals in the country.

So if we didn't do it this time, we were still the state that put the President over the EC line of 270 and you can't take that away from us...

9. Well done and well said

My nearly 90 year old parents and a disabled niece didn't want to vote early, but made it to their polling place of 50 years ( Glenville Y ) to cast their ballots. Afterward, nearly 40 members of the family made it over to Gram & Gramps to celebrate the returns.
We are part of the "Great Migration", up from Mississippi in 1950. Voting has special meaning for our family !

32. My parents used to dress up to vote

They were up from Alabama. We lived in the Mt . Pleasant area of Cleveland. At the time I thought it was because it was so important to them, but now wonder if it went deeper; like maybe they expected to be challenged or denied and so wanted to look "respectable" . Don't have them around to ask about it, they've been gone for many years now...

25. I can't take it away from you, because it's not true.

At least not any more true than saying that any state that went for Obama is what put him over the 270 line. He won by such a large margin that he could have lost a large number of states which he won - and in myriad combinations - and still had 270 votes... in both elections.

30. TV entertainment is not real life.

What some tv network reports - especially since, as I'd hope you know, it wasn't related to official final tallies - isn't what decides an election. Remember 2000?

Is this really some fabrication you need to tell yourself to make yourself feel better? If so, hooray for you, I guess. Should I feel just super that without Michigan, Ohio wouldn't have been so special?

44. I'm not the one living in some weird Ohio-based fantasy world.

I've been to Ohio a number of times.

I went to a high school dance there and made out with a girl in the back of my car.

I visited a college there.

I played a gig there once.

I went to a nice wedding there.

These things were fine, but never once did I notice that Ohio was a magical place where numbers applied to it were magic numbers that changed how mathematics works.

I've been thinking a lot about where I want to retire. I've considered Virginia, Washington or Oregon, Vermont. But in the end, I think I'll just stay right here in NE Ohio... for all the reasons you mentioned.

(I noticed you didn't mention our three sports teams, but goddamit, we try!)

36. I saw the Browns and the Indians a number of times in the old Stadium...

I remember my very first game. My mom took my brother and me to a game between the Yankees and the Indians.

I remember it so well because Mickey Mantle hit a home run. I think this was his last season. We waited for two hours to get an autograph from Mickey Mantle and he just blew right by us as if we weren't there.

Over the years I saw many great things. I was at the game where the ball hit Conseco in the head and bounced over the fence for a Home Run. When they moved to Jacobs Field, we went in on Season Tickets and saw about thirty games including the one where Sandy Alomar hit a home run to beat the Yankees.

I went out in style as the Judge I was doing his financial reports, Peter Sikora, invited us to sit up in the Club Seats. It was a struggle for me since I am now having health troubles.

We went to the last Monday Night game which was played after Model announced he was moving the team. It was ugly, real ugly.

And I went to I think 8-9 World Series of Rocks at the Old Stadium. Wonderful memories.

Love this area. I lived in Columbus and Salem Oregon for a bit and I really decided that Cleveland is the place to be...

56. I'm sorry to hear about your health problems...

I hope you get to more games in the future. And that you actually see a win!

I remember that Monday night game - it was ugly. I remember Pittsburgh fans cheering for the Browns that season. I remember the old stadium, even though I only went to maybe 2 Browns games there, and a few Indians games. What I really hate is that the Jake is not the Jake any more - and the Gund is not the Gund. Progressive Field? Quicken Loans Arena? What the hell is that?

But basketball was my sport, I was a Cavs fan for many years, season tickets, first row (until they put the boxes in front of us at the Coliseum - dammit!). Going all the way back to the old Arena. Screamed myself silly during the Miracle years, suffered through Stepien, got my heart broken over and over by the Lenny Wilkens teams (loved our choir boys). Vomit every time I see The Shot - they still show it sometimes around playoff time. Finally had to give it up when the price topped $ 75 per seat (and when they fired Mike Fratello - that pissed us off). It's waaaay beyond that now. Which means I was spared the whole LeBron era. Thank God.

I remember the Drive and the Fumble and...

Cripes, hope springs eternal. As the saying goes, ya gotta be tough to live in Cleveland!

My step father took us to the Old Arena to watch one of the Ali-Frazier boxing matches and the Closed Circuit Video crashed in the third round. The beer was flowing and the people were starting to fight...

Technically, of Florida or Virginia counted the votes faster, they would've put him over the top.

It is a false construct. Ohio only "put him over the top" because they counted a little faster.

Completely meaningless
