Why don't we cut Homeland Security, TSA, Drug War- Republicans will support?

We all know the Republicans are about protecting the Constitution, personal freedom and cutting spending...so we should have no problem coming to an agreement to eliminate these very expensive slush funds that violate our Bill of Rights?

1. If we stop enforcing marijuana laws, we would probably save a boatload of money at all levels of gov

If we legalize and tax it, we would bring in a boatload of revenue.

But of course the morality pigs of the GOP couldn't possibly go along with such a thing.

2. You know, there's something beautiful about that idea.

Putting these things front and center and making them a loud political issue could go a long way toward exposing the absolute LIE of their party's rhetoric on "small government" and "freedom" for brainwashed Republicans in denial.

But then when you realize how likely it is that our own Democrats in Washington would actually oppose these things, it sort of exposes our own denial about what we have permitted to happen within our own party, doesn't it?

The people have spoken. It is time to stand up and end the looting, and demand real change.

Awesome insight.

And I happen to think that it is We the Democratic Party that won this election, not just Obama, and that We the People now need to take the lead and demand the changes we need.

FDR did not act alone, he was forced by our great patriotic ancestors, who fought for US.

It is now our turn to fight for our children's future.

4. Toss in the military cuts

already set to kick in, and I think thats a patriotic and pragmatic starting position for any negotiations. Why keep funding bloated entitlement programs that have a history of failure?

5. Hooray!

William S. Burroughs, years ago, warned that the "war on drugs" would be a precursor to a power grab, or a power grab in and of itself, I forget which. End it! Two states have just voted to do so!

7. Imagine how much money we could save at 50,000 per year per prisoner

Instead we have prison for profit companies getting governors to sign agreements to keep them at 90% capacity.

8. why ins't this ever discussed by those Constitution loving tea party people

If we could just get them to think for themselves for one minute...they might realize that wiretapping US citizens and groping granny at the airport is slightly worse than offering health care.

9. Why don't any of our politicians ever mention this?

Why do we accept it?
