Let's use proper terminology in the tax debate:

- It isn't a question of taxing people, it's about taxing income.
The Bush tax cuts, restricted to Income of less than $250,000, still benefits millionaires.
- Taxes have nothing to do with 'redistribution' of wealth
Nobody's going into a rich neighborhood to steal the silverware ... taxes apply to wealth that has yet to be created.
- Millionaires are not being asked to 'pay a little bit more'
We are asking that they stop paying LESS than wage earners.
- When the distribution of income changes, the graduated tax structure should respond. That's the whole idea.
- Tax and spend is exactly what a government is supposed to do. "Borrow and waste" is the problem.

1. agreed

almost everyone gets that first point wrong. EVERYONE, even billionaires, will still benefit from the proposed reform that requires higher rates on income over $250,000.00

3. And the President doesn't want to increase the rate on the wealthy

He wants to let the tax breaks on them expire. He is ending the tax break, not taxing them more than that.

5. The wealthy benefit far more from government than do the poor ...

... that they should pay a LOWER rate than wage earners is obscene.

6. Millionaires aren't paying less, just a lower percentage.

The top 10% (those making over 112K) pay about 70% of all income taxes.

We are asking them to pay more.
