Assange’s health could drastically worsen in embassy – lawyer (RT)

Published: 11 November, 2012, 15:28

Assange has been confined inside the Ecuadorian Embassy since June 19 in conditions Garzon described as worse than prison. Assange took refuge there to avoid being extradited to Sweden ...

Previously, Ecuadorian vice foreign minister Marco Albuja said that he was “very worried” for Assange’s welfare, and that “he had lost a lot of weight” ...

The WikiLeaks founder has now spent over four months in the embassy after losing his court battle against extradition. He claims the allegations of sexual abuse against him are politically motivated, and part of a US conspiracy to arrest him ...

1. I wonder how long citizens of Ecuador have lived at the embassy.

Any of them reporting serious medical issues? My guess is no.

6. I don't know.

How long have citizens of Ecuador who have not been able to leave the building lived at the embassy? Are there even any?

3. He should have thought of that before fleeing justice

If he wants outside medical aid, all he has to do is surrender to the authorities. Problem solved.

I've no sympathy for the egomaniacal prick.

9. My sympathy is with the embassy workers.

I wouldn't want an unshaven Julian Assange hanging around in PJs and a bathrobe at my workplace.

12. I'm wondering if they aren't the ones pushing the "poor ill julian" theme

"Señor Presidente! We here at the embassy are becoming concerned that Julian looks so skinny and pale! Also, he coughs sometimes!"

"Mr Prime Minister! We here at the embassy are wondering: what would you do if we suddenly had to send Julian to the hospital in an ambulance?"
