Just got power in NJ. As a resident of the Jersey Shore I have to thank all the workers.

We've been out since 10:00 the night of the hurricane--Pardon me post-tropical depression, Sandy--it means a difference of around $3000 in insurance deductables to me. After all those long days and nights of freezing in the dark, a huge convoy of utility trucks from all over the country showed up on our block. Within a couple of hours they got everything set right. Amazing how these guys from all over could work together and get the job done. I spoke to a group of IBEW workers from Boston who'd been following the path of devestation for days.

As a resident of the Jersey Shore I want to thank the people, both local and from throughout the country who've come to help us clean up after this mess. Kudos also to the government and non-profit agencies which are helping to get us all back to normal.

6. Wow! Congratulations

This storm made me reflect on how much I appreciate the services of the many hard-working people who keep our infrastructure functioning.

Welcome back from the cold dark.

8. glad to hear you're back up!

yes, those professionals in electricity, communications, etc are really some skilled and dedicated people, sending more waves of gratitude to them too!

Hope you are okay, did you have a generator or a fireplace for warmth?

14. Welcome back

Two suggestions.

Boil your water, 20 minutes. They also lost power

And I your light flicker, the grid is unstable right now, disconnect critical things. They will be fine by the morning.

16. Your attitude is inspiring. Being without power can be disorienting and make you feel

really isolated. We went just a week without one December and it was awful - and we didn't even have the damage issues to deal with.

I'm so glad for you that the help you got came from people who were right in front of you.
