Democrats picked up seats in states that have independent commissions that oversee the creation of congressional districts like Florida and Arizona
I know that we picked up seats in Illinois and Maryland that don't have these commissions but that's not here nor there

that when Democrats have control of the statehouses, they often gerrymander to their advantage, just as Republicans do when they can.
