I shall find it impossible to join any boycott of Papa John's Pizza

There is a simple reason for that. I have never in my life had Papa Jon's Pizza and I have no plans to try it. It just isn't on my bucket list.

Neither is/was Godfather's Pizza. One reason for that above all others is that the name is offensive to me.

And yes, I'll shamefully admit I've eaten it. It's way better than Little Caesars, but that's about it.

that produce REAL pies. Those others joints run by sucessful marketers can keep their crap and their right wing owners will never get a dime from me.

Papa John's pizza is disgusting. They put sugar in everything - the only even slightly redeeming quality this crap has is the garlic sauce - but even that is loaded with high fructose corn syrup.

People at work would send out for one once in a blue moon if they had a coupon. Pizza Hut was better, though.

I can't boycott them now because I can no longer eat wheat.

Most towns have a local pizza place that's better than Papa John's or Dominoes. Heck, DiGorno's and other more premium frozen pizza is better than Papa John's or Dominoes.

The best pizza around here is from the Greek restaurants, although Little Caesar's is not bad for five bucks. I tend to just make my own or have the occasional frozen one. Just about any of the frozen ones are better.

but that was 40 years ago. Nowadays it's either home-made, or from the place nearby that does a credible New York style pizza, and delivers. There are enough decent local pizzarias throughout the country that there's no point going to chains.

Not quite as lauded as Parker but very good pizza and a cool place.

Not that there are any Papa John's for a hundred miles in any direction.

There are several very good local pizza joints within walking distance of my place (fringe of downtown Portland...). I've cut back the wheat quite a lot, so I'm certainly not going to waste one of my wheat indulgences on anything but the best.

And that goes double for this assclown's product...

stomach. I can digest pretty much anything, rather like a street dog.

However, that Papa John's pizza does not agree with me in the slightest--it is a reflux-producing, icky-tasting load of yuck. Good pizza is found in Naples, in Roma, in Sicily...and that crap doesn't taste like good pizza to me. The sauce is just ... WRONG. Foul. Acidic. Lacking in flavor.

I had this opinion of that brand a decade or more ago, before I knew that this guy was a wingnut asshole.

I never ate a Godfather's pizza, but I don't like Herman Cain so he ain't getting a dime from me.
