Business Owner Facing Backlash For Urging Employees To Vote Romney

http://sacramento.cbslocal.com/2012/11/09/davis-business-owner-facing-backlash-for-urging-employees-to-vote-for-mitt-romney/

DAVIS (CBS13) A small business owner in Davis asked her employees to vote for Mitt Romney. Not only did he lose, but now shes dealing with the backlash.

Thats not good at all, to start trying to coerce people for votes, said Osagie Edebiri.

Edebiri was so outraged that he returned a key he just bought as a matter of principle.

I feel like employees might get the wrong idea and feel like, maybe if they dont vote the right way, their jobs may be in jeopardy, said Edebiri.

2. Stupid Git

Not only did he most likely break the law, and certainly lose some customers, he did it for nothing.
What did he think, he could get CALIFORNIA to vote Republican?

5. not necessarily. It's a hardware store. If ya need a screw, ya need a screw

Her business will go to her competitors, and when theirs picks up, they'll be the ones hiring. Short-term pain for her her employees could lead to long term gain if they land in another hardware store not owned by an assboss.

4. The owner is a she, and she didn't break the law

I'm guessing because she didn't threaten to fire anybody if they didn't vote they way she preferred. She instead said she wouldn't be able to hire more people.

Now, thanks to her letter, business is slow and she won't be able to hire more people. BUT with people taking their business elsewhere, her competitors *will.* And she wouldn't return phone calls for comment!

7. We have audio, not video, of Romney asking employers to tell employees how to vote:

This was during a conference call in June.
