Will conservatives boycott liberal companies like Apple, Google, or Facebook?

Fat chance of that.

Every whackjob CEO that threatens to fire employees uses these companies products.

1. How could someone boycott a company..

that makes technologically advanced hardware and software that they
do not have the mental capabilities to make use of?

I would think that people who enjoy using computers would be
more apt to support progressive thought. The rest just use the
computer at work - but only 'cause they have to.

Hell Jeb, we got wood and nails. Let's just build our own!

It would be interesting to poll them and find out....

If anything differentiates us, it is a penchant for the pure fantasy of Libertarianism.

5. I consider companies whose executives/founders donate to Democrats

and who support gay marriage and/or benefits and who value employees rather than exploit them to be liberal.

Also, profit is non-partisan.

9. I've read that most people who use Apple are Dems; most who use Microsoft are Repubs.

Don't knkow if that's true. That must mean Dems are richer, because Apple is way expensive.

11. True on personal computers.

Of course that Apple commercial with the hip Mac guy vs the stodgy John Hodgeson MS-PC guy reinforced that meme.

18. Apple Macs are more expensive

But they last a lot longer than the majority of PCs. I have a small collection of macs I've picked up on the used market. My latest score is a 1998 Bondi Blue iMac , still runs perfect. I routinely use My G5s from 2004-05 for production work and my favorite Mac is a G4 from late '02 or early '03, still carries the mail very well.

I used PCs for years and was lucky to get 3 full years out of one.

8. I think the idea of a capitalist liberal company...

...is a big mental blind spot for them. They can't build up the will to boycott something that their bubble-thinking tells them should not exist.

13. Damn near impossible to do

None of us would be on the Internet if we did, I don't think there's a single computer of any kind made here anymore. If it is, it's assembled from parts made somewhere in Asia

16. My point precisely.

We need innovation. China has slaves. China plays unethical games with their currency.

The GOP solution to compete with China is to become LIKE China.

As it was in this election, so it must be in the global economy; we must find a way to compete AND be better than them from a moral standpoint.

Not going to be easy. But it is essential.

17. I agree

I buy most all my computer and electronic gear used, it's about the best I can do for now to keep from giving them my money. I'm still using American/Irish made Mac PowerPC machines that are 8-9 years old.

I finally broke down and bought a used intel iMac so I can run intel apps when I need to.

Long live PowerPC! lol
