He's well-preserved for 60, but I don't think that he's handsome.

He's also on the short side for me.

The bottom line, though, is that he brought more soldiers in for that surge, got more people (U.S. & Iraqis killed), and all for nothing. Iraq is a mess. Same for Afghanistan.

Because of those surges that caused so many unnecessary deaths, he's ugly inside.

Just curious because though men have trouble seeing past looks, most women don't hold that in such high esteem. We certainly have our physical "no ways", like some won't be interested in a shorter man, or an obese man, or a bald man, or whatever and/or some combination thereof. But our "looks" criteria are generally incredibly more tolerant than a man's.

I would expect most women would find him good looking enough to get to know, and then perhaps he is a quite a charmer, apparently he was to at least one woman,

My experience suggests most women wouldn't comment on a man's looks regarding attraction unless he had some obvious issues as mentioned above.

I hope very few women judge books by their covers as you seem to, and hope men as well get over that.

One last thought, perhaps you've met the man and have some valid reason for your assessment outside of his looks.

to his/her appearance when commenting about attraction. Finding out a woman did it to a man is just disgusting in my opinion, since as women seem we spend our whole lives trying to be judged by something other than our looks, so we know how unfair and totally sickening it is, to do the exact same thing we mostly all hate having done to us.

I am not the type to notice a flaw in a POV and judge an entire person by that alone. Will I keep it in mind during pertinent discussions, yes. Will I let it flavor every post you make on every topic, no.
Hence I am not reducing you one comment.

Petraeus had no business in a Democratic Party Administration nor IMHO in the USA military or intelligence community because of his choice of morality long before any recent incident.

Amoral (correctly spelled with one m) means lacking in morals.

Immoral (2 m's) means counter to established moral norms.

The man made decisions on essentially a Risk game to drop bombs with innocent human lives as collateral damages to support lies that to his "success".

His affairs were immoral as in counter to social norms.

Too bad our leaders can't be held accountable for crimes of war, covert intelligence agency operations, and the dirty contracting of military outsourcing.

Amoral may refer to: Amorality, the absence of morality; for example, a stone, a chair, or the sky may be considered amoral.

Human beings are not amoral and neither are the decisions made pertaining to war.

An individual human being can be amoral and the psychiatrists/psychlogists no doubt have a name for the personality disorder and/ or biological chemistry problem. One could imagine the syndrome is treatment resistent given human history.

Look in a dictionary, a human can be amoral.

Wars based and continued upon lies for gains for specific individuals and/or social or political groups are amoral IMHO. Lower level aggressive particpants may be immoral or victims - yes I am criticizing the social respect paid to the USA MIC.

The leaders that tell the lies and control the decisions are War Criminals akin to those the USA lead moral court prosecution post WW-II.

Also geez I thought we were on the same side at DU.

I used to spend much time in MI in 80s-90s courtesy as a consultant to CMS Energy, various financal entities, and the State of MI I really like the area between Traverse City down to Muskegon.

Except for Joe Biden, who is hot. The most drop dead hot gorgeous man in the world is the one I'm in love with, but before I fell in love with him he just seemed average. Yes, but I am 32 and have been going through a dry spell. Seriously, though, he's a little on the skinny side but I've been accused of being a neurotic gym bunny myself, and I'm sure he doesn't run out of breath after five minutes, which is more than I can say for my ex. I don't deduct beauty points on men for slightly crooked teeth, come to think of it, he has more than my ex... My point being, at least he takes care of himself... at 60 he still has his hair, teeth, and can see his feet when he looks down. Might not agree with everything he says, but a conversation with him would definitely not be boring, since he seems intelligent (most of the time).
I'm annoying myself by even being interested in this story--- having dealt with a sociopathic ex (previously mentioned) who tried to destroy my life after I left him thereby destroying his own life in the process-- I actually feel a little sympathy for "Peaches". Can't help but think she had it in for him. She probably knew on some level that her imagined rival in FL would pitch a fit over the threatening email and that Patraeus would eventually get busted. While most people would probably hide under a rock, Broadwell is practically posing in front of windows so the paparazzi can take pictures of her! Despite her own life going to pieces (a life that includes two young kids and a husband). I think she's enjoying the revenge... and all of this conveniently weeks before her book comes out in paperback! Beware of narcissists.

Our President and VP on the other hand...now they are hot!

Maybe Paula Broadwell thought he was interesting due to his powerful position?

I guess it is all about what you do with the power you have and how you treat others. Certain Republicans would certainly be more attractive if they were not sexist, disgusting men who want to tell women what to do with their own bodies.
