They have been married for 37 years, unless he is the one wanting a divorce, she ain't going nowhere, besides what is a good divorce lawyer going do? The guy is a career solider, he hardly has any $$$$.

|
it is not like he is a multi-millionaire, if they divorce she will get what any other long-time suffering military wife is going get. He will probably get a book deal and join the 100k speaking circuit, but that will be after they have divorced, so she will be stuck with 50% of a military pension.

tend to forgive their husbands. It is normally the man who leaves, not the woman who puts the man out.

53. That is not true.
|
Maybe years ago it was because women had limited financial options and weren't necessarily given a fair shot in divorce court; however, that is no longer the case.
Most splits us ARE when the woman kicks the man out, now. The man would prefer to have his cake and eat it, too. That happens less now that women don't depend on their husbands for financial support. |

If the guy had an affair which has blown up his personal life, and he's taken the correct course at this point and tendered his resignation to avoid a broader scandal, that's the perfectly fine and honorable thing to do.
If he allowed himself to be compromised in any way, that's really off the charts for a person in his position. |

While conducting research over the past three years, Broadwell was afforded extensive access by General Petraeus, his mentors, his subordinates, and his longtime friends. Over the course of Petraeus's command of ISAF-Afghanistan from July 2010 through July 2011, Broadwell embedded with the general, his headquarters staff, and his soldiers

not once has anyone (other than DU) intimated that she is whom he was having an affair with. It seems likely, but right now it's all speculation. If she isn't having an affair, it's bad enough to be investigated for possibly leaking state secrets.

but if a crime was committed wouldn’t it have been his crime? Classified infor would have had to come from him. If she didn’t clandestinely take top secret data from his desk when he wasn’t looking, can she be guilty of anything. Even if she included such info in books/articles about him couldn’t she claim that she did not know it was classified?
