50.5 percent would be rounded up to 51 percent if this was a republican
Why is rounded down by the media to 50 percent?

It is to demean and diminish.

2. 0 - 4 gets rounded down, 5 - 9 gets rounded up

Last edited Fri Nov 9, 2012, 10:39 AM USA/ET - Edit history (1) That's standard procedure.

3. We're not done counting yet either, are we?
|
But yea, if it were "them" it would be 51% and they'd be rubbing our noses in it every chance they got.
"They" meaning GOP, M$M, the entire RW looney bin. |

4. All they need to know is President Obama has a mandate, just like Bush did with his 400-vote victory
|
(or so he claimed). Bush governed like he won a landslide.

7. in hard numbers what is .5% of the population?
|
Last edited Fri Nov 9, 2012, 11:04 AM USA/ET - Edit history (1) .5% may not sound like much but that represents 1,563,905 people that are likley Obama supporters (whether they voted or not). That's a pretty significant number of persons to wipe away by rounding down.

11. 3.14159 and the infinite number of digits behind it is "3.14".

As the talking Barbie doll said, "Math is hard." The wingnuts have enough trouble with the concept of 1/2. On Edit: Actually, just "3" is close enough for estimating - especially when you're doing it in your head. |
