It feels different, doesn't it....

It is wonderful to be able to bask in the joy of our president's reelection - made so sweet that it was the defeat of the lies of Romney and Ryan, the smack down of the super-rich entitled spoiled brat family, and the pissed away zillions of the most odious of all, swollen pimple called Rove.

But...I am also spending just a bit of mental time wandering, no polls to check every 15 or 20 minutes, no nervous, anxious energy expended on reading how the media is going to puff up Romney, or distort Obama. This is OUR transition time, isn't it - from fighting and perhaps worrying mode to.... getting back to our "real" lives (or at least spending more time being less distracted - my wife certainly noticed me just looking a bit vacant over the last two days).

So DU can transition (it already is, of course) to our local battles, perhaps (such as, for us in NC, seeing the odious Art Pope on stage with our new "I smell something bad face" governor McCrory - wondering how we can find some decent Dem politicians that can win in NC and stem the local red tide.

Or, to put it another way....this is the let down phase. Wonder how long it will last?

But doesn't it feel great!

And the fact that I work in a small business that is ALL Republican makes it even better.

a little blood in the pool, suddenly "the fiscal cliff" is all the rage now. I agree, enjoy the calm while it lasts.

state with nothing left to offer but bravado and that glazed over eyes look so many of his supporters seem to have. His crap politics took Charlotte from the greatest city in NC to a city that can't even gets its mass transit act together but never STFU about how great it is. Don't get me wrong. I used to love Charlotte, but it is a shell of what it used to be before McCrory took it over for so long. McCrory left Charlotte missing a lot of what it used to have. I have a gut feeling the entire state is heading down the same path with him in charge.

I despise Republicans, especially the Republicans in my own state. I guess it is because of being in the belly of the beast, but they irritate me more somehow.

And yes, I have a vacant dreamy stare and keep sighing the hugest (is that a word? should it be most huge?) sigh of relief imaginable. I'm so fucking glad Romney did not become president. He's a sick fuck. I will be glad not to have to see his face any more, especially on TV and in my damn mailbox every day. That REALLY got on my nerves. I can turn the channel on TV, but had to wait until trash day to get Mitt Romney out of my trash can. Just knowing his beady little eyes were in my kitchen trash can every day made me nauseous.
