Alot of open committee positions within the Democratic Senate - who will get picked

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/112th_United_States_Congress#Committees

Aging (Special) (Chair: Herb Kohl, Ranking: Bob Corker)
Budget (Chair: Kent Conrad, Ranking: Jeff Sessions)
Energy and Natural Resources (Chair: Jeff Bingaman, Ranking: Lisa Murkowski)
Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs (Chair: Joe Lieberman, Ranking: Susan Collins)
Indian Affairs (Chair: Daniel Akaka, Ranking: John Barrasso)

These are the 5 open seats for Committee Chairs.

I know Tom Carper is taking over Homeland Security, he mentioned it in his acceptance speech. So it will be interesting to see who gets the other positions.

Personally I think after the great job Patty Murray did with the DSCC re-election 2012 she should get a bigger position (currently she's Veterans) and she is one of the senior senators on the Budget committee.

I also would like to see Bernie Sanders get a chair. It would show Angus King that we have a big tent with plenty of room for independants (I don't think King has announced who he would caucus with yet however I doubt he would get a chair position as a new senator).
I think one of the Udalls should get Indian Affairs since both come from states with large Native American populations (New Mexico and Colorado).

Maria Cantwell is one of the senior senators in the Energy committee so I think it's time she gets a chair
