(399 posts)I am fortunate to not only have Kirsten Gillibrand as my Senator in New York, we were able to fire the she-beast Nan Hayworth. However, the news that Ms. Warren outlasted the ridiculous attacks of her opponent and made it through to serve on the same legislative body that denied her her rightful post as head of the Consumer Protection agency made me happier than I can describe. I was quietly celebrating with the few other Democratic teachers in my school yesterday and we were celebrating not only Obama's victory but what is the best election that has taken place since I could vote. It made up for 2004, the first year I could vote, when I was sorely disappointed when Walter Mondale failed utterly to unseat Ronald Reagan. Baldwin, Duckworth, Grayson, Warren, McCaskill and Sean Patrick Maloney in my own district...it was a very good day.
