Isn't it time to institute more uniformity to the election process in America?

I watch this every time. Long lines, missing ballots, confusing eligibility requirements. Florida seems to be the biggest offender . President Obama mentioned something about the long lines, but that's not the only problem. And having campaigns, which last just short of forever is a bit absurd, don't you think? Present your case and leave the stage. Campaigning should be restricted for X number of days. Each party should receive x number of dollars from the federal government for national elections and so much money for local elections based on certified, registered members. As it is now, it's a vaudeville act at times. I don't live in the States and for obvious reasons I am not eligible to vote, but I try to follow US politics and the election process seems more important than the candidates' platforms. Let's concentrate on substance. Identify the problems and offer concise, consistent, easy to understand solutions and move on.

Vote Act' which privatized the election industry, and made electronic voting mandatory. federally. The EAC, the federal overseer of our elections (which eleciton processes can be used, and certification of voting machines) is still staffed by two Bush appointees. the other 2 seats are vacant. obama never bothered to appoint new commissioners.

It IS federally mandated. Each state can choose how they comply with the federal mandates.

aware that controlling how an election is managed, and the vote counting is controlling the election.. Dems repeatedly choose to pretend it is not happening. Obama has the right, right now, to nominate 4 commissioners to head the EAc and clean this stuff up. He chooses not to bother. should have been done 4 years ago. Should have chosen Elizabeth Warren, or someone like her to head the EAC.

why, but it is really not my place to say why. The facts are, the Democrats in power support and uphold the corrupt election system.
repeatedly.
This happens in Democratic states just as much as in Republican states. We bring evidence to the authorities. They ignore it. Maybe if the public demands change it will come. What I have seen first hand is Democrats in office sweeping it under the rug, forcefully.
