Hope is greater than fear...

I believe that this is the primary, essential message for this pivotal election. We won because people want to believe in hope, and because they are tired of being driven by the fear-mongering of the political right.

They have been repudiated and relegated to the trash bin of history. The Republican party has driven itself into a corner and they are now marginalized, all by their own hand.

We are the future. We truly care about all our people; we want everyone to achieve life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Our optimism and our hopes for the future drive us...

I feel a great optimism today. I realize of course that many problems still confront us, but with the good legislators and Obama at the helm, we should make great strides in resolving them...

We stand on the cusp of a new day.

So, as I achieve 100,000 posts, I rejoice in our world, in DU, in all of you. Thank you, all of you, for teaching me, for caring about me, for standing by me as my life goes forward. To our new day!

5. Just sayin'...

Not necessarily. I think a heck of a lot of votes were cast due to fear of a Romney presidency, or a Republican Senate. Fear has it's place and may have helped win Obama the presidency.

Just sayin'. Each is motivated in his/her own way, fear works for some. Fear certainly has been know to allow slight women to raise cars, and similar almost unbelievable momentary strengths, I've never heard of hope actually bringing upon one any super-human temporary strengths.

For example, I may have "feared" someone into voting Obama when I pointed out the lack of privacy and childcare and future health care related to his adorable granddaughters if the right were to go unrestricted into the next four years. His fear for his granddaughters' physical well-being overran his fear that they'll pay high taxes due to the deficit.

Just sayin'. Both are both good and bad depending upon each individual.

10. I'm no physiologist ...

but was a competitive athlete, I am a parent and I was a child. From that I learned that fear is good for moving someone in a particular direction, but only for short periods of time ... only for as long as the threat is present, visible and in effect.

On the other hand, hope is that thing that resides in our souls, that speaks loud when we are quietest, and moves us forward when we are most still. Hope, requires no external stimulus.
