California fires the first round at the 1-percenters
Looks like prop 30 is going to pass! That raises taxes on the highest incomes in the state.
Let the wailing and gnashing of teeth begin

9. Model for the rest of the country
|
At least the left coast of California is. It is the biggest state, the richest state, and the most robust state. Together with an economy that rivals most nations, California is a model for all other states. If we can get rid of the few remaining GOP obstructing progress, we can show, by leading the way, to the rest of the states how to make things happen.
California doesn't have a vibrant and deep economic ecology because of the nice weather. It has it because of a liberal attitude and the willingness to try and not be scared to fail. The right fears failure, so they don't try or they move the goalposts to avoid being called failures. And that is why they fail. |

8. They spent so much to defeat that proposition. But I think Jerry Brown's ad made it clear

Last edited Wed Nov 7, 2012, 03:27 PM USA/ET - Edit history (1) that there was nothing wrong with asking the wealthy to pay their share. Most of the prop ads were unclear if you weren't following politics closely, but his ad left no doubt what this was all about.
