Mark my words--Complacency is going to turn Texas blue one of these days...

I live north of Houston, TX. There's a lot of Republicans, but there's a lot of Dems too...thanks to migrating Northerners like myself.

Left the house at about 9:30 AM to get to my polling place. As I pulled up I noted there were three Obama signs along the drive and one Romney. It took longer to walk into the school than it did to sign in. No line, no wait... no nothing. I was literally home by 10 AM.

I begin to believe the key to turning Texas blue is to make them super complacent. They pretty much act as if it's a given and they don't need to vote. It's working. At least here, in my tiny corner of Texas.

are going to turn the state blue sooner than we think. Obama had a chance in Georgia. Arizona, Texas, Georgia, North Carolina all moving in that direction. How do the Republicans make up for this? Colorado will be bluer than blue before long. We just have to keep working. By the way, I'm a Bears fan, but I guess we can agree on something, huh?

We're getting there. The demographics show that we have a good chance of getting to purple/blue in 12-15 years. Slow and steady ...

I came to TX from a blue state as well.
you are right that if they are complacent and don't turn up.
But that is a big if.
There are still many many Repubs outside TX 3 main cities (not counting solidly Dem Austin)

Calling it like I see it.
Lot less people than there were at the midterms. I'm in Spring.

Heart condition, RA, no health insurance. You're absolutely right, but not for the reasons you think.

With a growing Latino population, if the Republicans keep up talking about mass deportations, it's going Blue.
