Pennsylvania Voting and ID Question: Are Poll Workers REQUIRED to ask for ID?

I know that ID is not required for this election as a result of court decisions.

I also know that even though this is true, the GOP state government decided to get as much voter suppression as they could out of the law anyway by running ads that could easily be misunderstood as saying ID was needed even after the court decision.

I'm assuming that the purpose of this was to cause some people who didn't know about the law being blocked to not show up to vote because they never were able to get the ID.

I know it's not against the law for poll workers to ask for ID today even though you don't have to show it. Apparently they are asking for ID, but are they actually REQUIRED to ask for it, and are asking everyone?

I guess what I'm getting at is, if you are voting in PA, you don't need the ID, and it's a good idea to make it clear to everyone in line with you that this is the case.

2. I heard Lawrence O'Donnell say none of the poll watchers have any legal anything to stop you

He said they are volunteers with no legal authority to do anything to you. They can be as intimidating as they want but they have no legal authority to stop anyone from voting. Only the county election officials can do anything.

One poll worker asked me if I had an ID. I asked if it was mandatory and she said, no. So I said I would not show one and that they know me here. I've been voting at the same place for 36 years!

I had ID on me but wanted to test the waters a bit. Did not raise a stink just told them I had no ID on me. See my experience here;
