At least he didn't take the life of another to eat. The Sparrow that got knocked off, will return the favor on another unsuspecting Sparrow.

I was very young and I thought at the time that the swallows were the antagonists, shape of the wings and their speed and the dumpy blunt shape of the sparrows gave me the wrong impression

Although I don't view the birds at my feeders in slow motion, I am continually amazed at their antics.
