(4,787 posts)the Park Avenue stretch beginning around 60th Street is where the 'rich' live; it did not lose power. Also, the buildings along the East River from the Brooklyn Bridge to 14th Street are nearly all NYC Public Housing Projects (along with a subsidized middle income co-op).

The New York mag cover takes my breath away - it was the perfect way to illuminate the situation.
