did you feel pity for weepy eyed Ann Romney today?

Her eyes were red and weepy. Her voice had a teary "we we are losing, let's get this over" tone.

No pity from me - Her husband's election would GUARANTEE a turn back of the clock for women's rights. it would GUARANTEE a continued efford to prevent black and brown folks from voting. it would GUARANTEE that the system would continue to be gamed for the benefit of rich guys like Rommney.

It was like a farewell, let's get this over with so we can crawl back to our old lives, moment.

Don't know how the election will go, though I believe it will be quite a bit more in Obama's favor than even the most optimistic polls are showing.

But I do know that the Romneys firmly believe they have lost the election already. Couldn't believe Anne was that shattered to let such a thing show this close to the day - of course, unless she was convinced beyond a shadow of a doubt of their inability to win.

She knows that her day in the sun came and went and she has nothing to show for it.
Oh, she will be asked to go to social parties in the DC area for a long time, to reminisce about what being the wife of the GOP Presidential candidate was like.

Hitler invested time and effort into something which "did not return the favor." Are you calling his suicide a tragedy?

Seriously, if you invest time and effort into something positive, and get a kick in the teeth in return, that may be a tragedy (and/or a learning experience).

If you invest time and effort into stealing from and destroying other's lives for your personal benefit, then when you get a kick in the teeth in return that is not a tragedy. It's payback.

Shit on a boomerang!

an enabler of everything at the core of what is wrong in this country and the world. I don't hate the haughtiness or contempt for "you people." That is sad and even laughable.

But she is an animal abuser and enabler. And her husband is an animal and people abuser. He has destroyed many, many people's lives in his determination to make as much money as possible, and would destroy our country in his quest to own it.

The love of money is the root of all evil. There is a reason that quote from the Bible is so very well known. They have embraced evil as a lifestyle. That is what I hate, that and the suffering they have inflicted on so many lives.

Sun Nov 4, 2012, 04:25 AM
Nov 2012

I have my moments of compassion, definitely -- like for the wives and kids ritually dragged out to stand by daddy when he's either been trounced or has been caught being a complete jerk, like the Vitters. I always wonder why wifey puts up with that crap, but the kids didn't ask to be humiliated like that.

But the Romneys came waltzing in to this presidential election as though it was an entitlement of his (and by extension, hers), just the next thing to put on his resume in an already charmed life. I wouldn't be that man's wife for anything in the world, but she's made her peace with it, like the Mrs.s Nixon, Bush, and so on. That kind of political wife either loves her husband in spite of everything, or she loves the privileges of power. Whatever.

Romney is hollow. We've seen him in this campaign and we know his record as a businessman. He has no respect for either the electorate or the institutions of government, and every time his lips are moving, he's lying. No one can figure out why he even wants the office, but it can't be good.

He's been only too willing to trash anyone else who gets in his way -- he and his surrogates play dirty -- he seems to think this office should be his for the taking.

Well it isn't. You fight dirty, you're going to get hurt too. God willing you will lose, and lose badly. Electoral politics is not supposed to be settled in quiet rooms, you plutocratic jerk.

So no. I'm not in the mood to feel for Mrs. Romney's pain just now. She should just take her hubby and go the hell home.

Sun Nov 4, 2012, 09:49 AM

She is an animal abuser.

Not because she rides dressage, which when done properly is the most humane and gentle system of training.

But because when one of her horses, Super Hit, was crippled due to a congenital hoof defect, instead of doing the humane thing and retiring him to a "career" that wouldn't cause harm, she drugged him with surgery-level analgesics, forced him to continue performing at a level that was clearly harming him, cheated in competition with drugs that are so unavailable that they don't even test for them, until he couldn't "win" (if you call cheating winning ) for her any more, and then attempted to defraud a buyer to the tune of $125K by drugging him in the pre-purchase exam.

Ok, her trainer did the actual drugging, but as a lifelong horsewoman and dressage rider, I can tell you she had to know what was going on. And if she's a worse rider than she imagines so didn't feel it, then when she found out via the lawsuit, she should have fired the trainer instead of helping him represent the US at the Olympics. EOS.

Edited to add: Oh, and this was a horse she claimed to be "fond of." Can you imagine how she'd treat "you people" she's not "fond of?"
