bwehahaha: 'Motherly' Margaret Thatcher cleaned bodyguard's shoes and tidied their rooms

It must be humor day!

Former Prime Minister and "Iron Lady" Margaret Thatcher had a motherly side, cleaning dirt from her bodyguard’s shoes and putting up Christmas decorations to make staff feel at home, her former protection officer has revealed.

<snip>

Mr Strevens, who began his work for Baroness Thatcher in April 1978, described how a colleague had once feared getting into trouble after accidentally treading in dog mess outside and walking over a white carpet.

Instead, he claims, the Prime Minister reassured him with the words "Never mind, we're in the country now," before getting on her “hands and knees” to scrub his shoes and carpet with soap and water.

And it's even more amazing when it backfires because they can't even make-up believable lies about working.

I have known many kindly, thoughtful, "motherly" conservatives, including members of my own family. Their politics may be wack but at least some are not at all nasty on a personal basis. I do not like Margaret Thatcher as a politician; however, her conservativism doesn't mean she she was unkind to her staff.

are overly fond of young men, and tend to believe that women are the source of all evil, too. They may be women themselves, but they will stop at nothing to make a woman feel badly about herself and a man feel aggrandized because he's a man.
