Summary of discussion on the election on Charlie rose with John Dickerson...only a few min.

snapshot - both making closing arguments, Ohio the granddaddy of them all. Right now - Obama has best electoral map, but Romney better in NC and FL, also in CO (early voting) - but Obama good in OH and NV (early voting) - so we are seeing how it is breaking.

Both appealing to rest of undecideds - Romney - Obama is more of the same, I have a plan (goes through the 5 points). Running as champion of "everyone" (to counter the 47% video). Obama - I am not done yet, talks about people in middle class who need a champion.

They are both done with their base, going for a very small number of undecideds. Does paid media have less influence because of fatigue? Ads run against Romney in Ohio worked well early on. And they don't stick very well over time. So ads in last minutes of Romney campaign will stick because undecideds are finally tuning in.

What did he and other analysts miss?

Two things - Romney has more than is apparent, not showing up in polls, silent majority.
President - his new coalition changed how the election works - demographic changes so big that they have been missed.
