Florida Democrats’ strength in early and absentee vote visualized

http://saintpetersblog.com/2012/11/florida-democrats-strength-in-early-and-absentee-vote-visualized/

Kevin Akins of Hamilton Campaigns sends this visualization of the Democrats’ advantage. Akins and Co. note:

Democrats have a significant early vote turnout advantage in South Florida
Democrats are continually increasing their turnout advantage in large, urban counties across the state
Democratic turnout is strengthening, despite the truncated early vote period — many counties are posting higher turnout numbers on weekdays than reported on the opening weekend of early vote

I see some blue counties in northern Florida. Are they Democrats who vote for Republicans or are they on our side?

The blue dot in the middle of the panhandle is Tallahassee/Leon County. Besides Jacksonville, this is our North Florida stronghold. We sometimes carry a few of the counties around Tallahassee. My guess on the other counties that appear blue on this map is that rural black voters really stepped up to support the President, and they made sure they voted early. These counties are sparsely populated compared to the rest of Florida, and we may not carry them on election day, but it is a good early sign.

Remember many Dems had their registrations changed by that company run by Nathan Sproul. So there may be a lot of "registered repubs" who are actually Dems and voted as such. So all those red circles may not be as red as they think.
