Council Leader Offers Compromise on Wage

After months of heated debate over whether New York City should mandate a so-called living wage for workers in city-subsidized projects, the City Council speaker, Christine C. Quinn, unveiled a proposal on Friday that would raise wages for some workers in such projects.

The compromise proposal would exclude employees of commercial tenants in subsidized developments, like retail workers, who had in many ways been the main focus of the bill’s advocates.

My name is Donny Moss. I am one of the coordinators of the campaign to vote Christine Quinn out of office.

If you look beyond her identity to her record (something most progressives have failed to do), an ugly picture emerges: overturning term limits even though NYers voted twice to keep them; allocating millions of dollars in slush funds to fake charities and doling them out for political favors; using the Council's discretionary funds to control votes and reward and penalize Council Members; blocking bills that have a veto-proof majority b/c they don't serve her political agenda; scoring the lowest of all Manhattan Council Members on the annual human rights report card; blocking every meaningful animal protection bill introduced at City Hall since she become Speaker; taking millions in donations from real estate developers after committing on the record not to; betraying her consituents time and again on issues like St. Vincents Hospital and the false prostitution arrests of middle-aged gay men; making a career of saying one thing in public and doing just the opposite behind the scenes.

The campaign against Quinn is a grass roots effort. Please spread the word.
