(276 posts)when this avalanche of rationality washes away their relentless, reality denying demagoguery.
This is a huge turning point for America and The World away from irrational tribalism towards a necessary unity of humanity.
The Waves of Change are washing humanity's consciousness clean.

(53,866 posts)i agree. i was kinda sad that no one addressed global warming, i usually shuttle between anxiety/nervousness and confidence
glad its ending soon, it's an emotional roller coaster

(5,810 posts)So I chose confident. I really am feeling more confident but with a slight note of caution since I do think that there is still plenty of time for shenanigans to take place. But all in all, I am at a good place right now and am planning to spend Tuesday night celebrating Obama's victory. Oh and more than anything else, watching Mittens and Lyin' Ryan have to concede. That is going to be one sweet moment!!! I can't believe I wrote that, but in some respects, I am just as excited about the concession speech as I am when they declare Obama the winner. Romney has been so despicable and smug so watching his campaign crash and burn is sweet revenge. The Party for Obama's victory can then begin in earnest.

(8,217 posts)I want it over, with Romney going the way of Palin.
Well, Palin has been a non-entity for at least a few months now, so I am hoping the same fate for Willard.
I already find the name Willard creepy as is: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0310357/
Romney just made it worse.

(89,247 posts)and everything i hear the republicans are trying to do now. and romney's lies and the media not only letting him get away with it but supporting him for it.
romney just seems like a sleazy person who would do anything to "win".

(89,247 posts)the problem with 2004 for me is that on election day the numbers were going Kerry's way and they really thought they were going to win. i was feeling good at that point also. it was around the middle of the day.
but then something happened in ohio.
anyways it's that feeling. i also think McCain as nasty as he can be still has a certain decency in that he would not steal votes or even do anything prior to election day which could discourage voters even if he knows they will not vote for him.
this was not the case with BUsh and even less so with ROmney.

(63,901 posts)prez campaigns back when I was worried sick about Obama's first debate performance. I learned a lot. I learned that such factors as a rising stock market and rising confidence levels and excellent ground games are major factors. Add to that the weather/storm factor which no one was expecting (but one that has real election campaign effects!) and you have a solid reason to feel good about Obama.
Actaully, I think this thing has been essentially "over" for a while now.

I am anxious to bury these clowns on Tuesday and move on.

(27,630 posts)but then, I have a tendency toward anxiety coupled with a tendency towards depression, which is something I deal with on a daily basis. We're not talking about my feelings? Okay then,
Aside from potential, major-ass-cheating-voter-fraud, Obama's gonnaa win.

(333 posts)I know that Pres. O is probably going to win. But the thing that puts a damper on the parade is that it's not looking likely for Dems to regain control in the House, which means he probably won't be allowed to get much done for at least 2 more years...

Click around on a few states to change the map. POTUS has a LOT of paths to this thing.
