(21,642 posts)so we took "Mom" to lunch and then to vote. Amazing how many other people there were also on walkers. Had to wait 40-45 minutes, which is very unusual, but I only say one person arrive and decide not to wait.

(17,320 posts)I will mention that a young man in front of us was turned down because his drivers license had expired. I looked it up after I got home and found what I thought was correct. It isn't necessary that a person's photo drivers license be current. Apparently, that you man was denied his vote today. Had I been sure of it at the time, I would have stepped in a reminded the clerk the she was incorrect.

(18,670 posts)Though I'm so ashamed and disappointed in myself. I've always been proud to vote mostly straight Dem, but this time I blew it and accidentally voted for Brad Owens as Lt Gov, and he's a disgrace to Democratic values. The Republican candidate is actually more liberal and scandal free, along with being pro-choice, unlike Owens. If I had educated myself more on Owens, I wouldn't have wasted my precious vote. Jesus, even my daughter knew better and thankfully educated her followers on Facebook not to make the same mistake. They were as clueless as I was, and very grateful to her for pointing it out.

(108 posts)Not sure there are enough like me in this state to carry it for the President, but we have a decent shot at getting richard Carmona to replace Jon Kyl and at sending Kyrsten Sinema to the House of Representatives. Each would do wonders at repairing Arizona's image outside the state. But nothing would make me happier than to see Arpaio defeated; there is no rational explanation as to how this person continues to be popular other than anti-Hispanic, anti-immigration nonsense.

(7,495 posts)Also did GOTV phonebanking encouraging Dems to vote by mail. Now we're pushing early voting. Avoiding election day voting is a really good idea in Florida. Tallahassee Repubs loaded up the ballot with 11 teabag amendments. We're expecting very long, very slow lines on Nov. 6.

(243 posts)I voted last week. The lines were not that long but there was always a consistant line length. It appeared that the overwhelming support was for OUR PRESIDENT. I hope it goes like this throughout the whole country. I would love nothing more than a surprise landslide in which we gain seats in the Senate and the House, breaking the GOP into splinters of various factions.
