(21,477 posts)1. I love her. But why not The Smothers Brothers?
Nothing against Ellen or any other recipient, but why haven't The Smothers Brothers gotten the Twain prize? Geez, are our memories that short?

(14,533 posts)2. We can remember when we first saw Miss DeGeneres on Open House..
in the early 1990's. She stole our hearts then. I believe she, also, won the best
new comedienne award during that time.
Anyone who can bring so much fun and joy into others' lives deserves recognition, for sure.

The first time I remember her she was in a US West commercial from 1992.
