Romney forced to clarify 'immoral' disaster relief comments

Romney forced to clarify 'immoral' disaster relief comments

by Joan McCarter

Newly Moderate Mitt has been forced to clarify what Severely Conservative Mitt meant when he called federal spending on disaster relief "immoral" during a primary debate. With the entire northeast being threatened by the monster storm, Mitt has been forced to say that he doesn't really want to abolish FEMA.

“Gov. Romney believes that states should be in charge of emergency management in responding to storms and other natural disasters in their jurisdictions,” Romney spokesman Ryan Williams said in a statement. “As the first responders, states are in the best position to aid affected individuals and communities, and to direct resources and assistance to where they are needed most. This includes help from the federal government and FEMA.”

What that statement doesn't clarify is how states and localities could possibly be able to maintain their ability to respond under a Romney/Ryan budget that would slash funding to states, and specifically target first responder public employees—firefighters and cops. His budget would have to result in drastic cuts to emergency response. There's just no other way to make his domestic spending caps, tax cuts and increased defense spending work.

And pushing it off onto the states means that states, under balanced budget constraints, would have to cut education or health care or transportation or something in order to pay for disasters. Of course, there's Severely Conservative Mitt's ultimate solution: "And if you can go even further and send it back to the private sector, that’s even better." Since Newly Moderate Mitt is still talking about forcing states to take the lead, it seems pretty clear that he agrees with Severely Conservative Mitt that it would just be best to have private enterprise take it over.

Sandy is God's will, smiting women and gays and anyone who knows women and gays or even talked to them. It's God's will, so relax and enjoy it. It's immoral to help women and gays because its Gopd's will that they be thus smote/smitten/smited without federal aid so sayeth the lord. Fear not, for older white men can not be harmed by a "legitimate storm." Here endeth the lesson.

But, he has no integrity; and he plans to bring that lack to the White House if there should be another coup.

"I believe that the Lord, God, created the universe.
I believe that He sent His only Son to die for my sins.
And I believe that ancient Jews built boats and sailed to America
I am a Mormon,
And a Mormon just believes.

You cannot just believe part way,
You have to believe in it all.
My problem was doubting the Lord's will
Instead of standing tall.

I can't allow myself to have any doubt.
It's time to set my worries free.
Time to show the world what Elder Price is about!
And share the power inside of me...

I believe that God has a plan for all of us.
I believe that plan involves me getting my own planet.
And I believe; that the current President of The Church, Thomas Monson, speaks directly to God.
I am A Mormon,
And, dang it! a Mormon just believes!

I know that I must go and do
The things my God commands.
I realize now why He sent me here.

If You ask the Lord in faith,
He will always answer you.
Just believe in Him
And have no fear!

I believe that Satan has a hold of you
I believe that the Lord, God, has sent me here
And I believe that in 1978, God changed his mind about black people!
You can be a Mormon..
A Mormon who just believes!

And now I can feel the excitement.
This is the moment I was born to do.
And I feel so incredible
To be sharing my faith with you.

The Scriptures say that if you ask in faith,
If you ask God Himself he'll know.
But you must ask Him without any doubt
And let your spirit grow...

I believe that God lives on a planet called Kolob.
I believe that Jesus has his own planet as well.
And I believe that the Garden of Eden was in Jackson County, Missouri.
If you believe, the Lord will reveal it.
And you'll know it's all true. You'll just feel it.
You'll be a Mormon
And, by gosh!
A Mormon just believes!
Oh, I believe.
I believe."

Your insurance won't pay for it because you did not have this specific disaster covered as you live 300 miles, at least, from the nearest ocean. You can't find a job that will allow you to buy extra coverage and pay your mortgage at the same time, so you have to rely on the government (you pay your taxes) to cover this kind of loss. Wait, this is the GOP version of government, so who could you rely on? Not Romney, or Ryan, or Rove, or the Kochs. None of them. You have always paid your taxes, but you could not afford the exorbitant cost of enough insurance to cover this circumstance, especially as the insurance corporations are totally unregulated and thus unfettered and charge way too much for policies that would cover this disaster. Will the 1% eventually own all property and evict those of us who don't work cleaning their many homes, mucking out their horse stalls, washing and waxing their cars, raising their children, and even acting as surrogate mothers carrying their children to term so the vain ones won't lose their looks? Margaret Atwood--we need you again.

OMG...all you have to do is look at the video and see that Romney said FEMA should be gone. He called FEMA funding "immoral". John King pressed him on the issue and specifically asked Romney if he would deny disaster victims FEMA funding.

Romney launched into his diatribe about how FEMA funding is immoral.

I can't take this anymore.

He assumes we're fucking idiots, but he is the biggest fucking idiot to have ever run for office.

What a waste that piece of scum is.

What will Mitt Romney say today, that he'll be denying tomorrow? Gee, I can't wait to hear more lies from his disgusting pie hole.
